Unpopular Opinion: I want the Red Bulls to Win MLS Cup this year

Red Bulls winning the MLS Cup bring more exposure of MLS to NY. Our attendance has been down by a huge margin this year. It seems like most New Yorkers have either forgotten about our team or even the league all together. At least if Red Bulls win, it'll force New Yorkers to pay attention to MLS again

Don’t see how the red bulls winning helps us at all. If anything I think it would take more casual fans away from our fan base and bring them to theirs
Exactly what I was thinking. This, plus them bragging through all of 2019 how they did the Double and we can't even make the Semi's or some shit like that

I hear more about the NYRB in local media than I do NYC already....can't imagine them winning helping anything with this team. I see your point, but it's extremely flawed.

I'm at a coin flip on whether you're trolling (but if not welcome!) but I don't think that even NYCFC winning the cup would help our attendance, so Red Bull absolutely not. If people live in New York and care at all about soccer, they know where to find us. People don't come because they don't want to watch our league, or feel compelled to watch our players, or have a hatred for our stadium. The extra 30 seconds on local news we'd get for a title wouldn't do a thing.

really ? where you looking ?

even NY1 has some nycfc highlights from time to time. NBC local channel tends to do both i think. I mean you have the NY post writer writing here and there. but all of this is small amounts.

for the original post. lol no. RB ( and nycfc) winning the cup wont do anything to bring attention to the sport. those that care already are involved in the sport. there are perhaps a few more here and there but its only a few thoudands if that.

and one big reason is because its NYC, hundreds of other things happening and other sports. if RB winning, im sure you get backpage and news all about Giants/ Jets sucking or how bad Knicks are doing before RB ( or soccer in general) get major coverage, doesnt force anyone to pay attention to MLS.

I can take nazis in the supporter section, but this is a banable worthy post.

I was speaking more about radio. I've heard them announce RB scores on sports updates without a NYC mention on 660, 880, 1010,. Actually it just happened this Monday morning on 660. They said RB win and advance. They didn't even say our score. I know it's radio, but it is NYC radio.
