Jeez..... we get Pep’s assistant and Atlanta goes after the head of BocaJ.... par for the course with how NYCFC approaches MLS versus how Atlanta does.

San Jose got Matias Almeyda
we should get milito
To say GBS would be hired simply as a person in the know of MLS isn’t admitting that he’s a manager of BocaJuniors, which combined with being a top-level former MLS player, provides a much higher ceiling of knowledge and understanding than kreis ever had or could dream of. And I don’t recall that it was common knowledge that ATL was gunning for him - when PV was rumored to be leaving, GBS was at the top of the list of fan favorite replacements.i thought this was already alluded to in the summer as the replacement for Tata. For us if he is no in CFG family he wont be an option, i thought this was established already ? even if its a shitty way of business, they tried with someone in the "know of MLS" and outside of CFG with Kreis and that failed so i assume CFG dont want to take that chance

It’s amazing (but sad) that the fans seem to have a better grasp on who’s a top candidate (let’s face it, ATL’s pulling in an absolute heavy weight if they can land GBS) than the club’s leadership.
In fairness GBS is massively overrated in the MLS community.
With our managerial transition, we sacrificed 2018 to corporate stupidity, so the smart play would have been for CFG to hire an admitted half-season caretaker with GBS coming in now. Unfortunately, they don’t do smart.no doubt he prime candidate ( i do recall reading about it, maybe it was South american twitter chatter that i read during the summer, something about not leaving till boca was eliminated from libertadores, which obviously didnt happen) MLS player and leading Boca two straight titles and a libertadores final. the timing didnt coincide since we were in need of a coach in summer and he wont leave till end of 2018 and now CFG have their guy and wont go back on it, because you know CFG.
1 million wins 0 losseswhat is his track record though, I know noting of his manger career though
