I've settled on posting all matches for a given month. Let's see how that plays out.

Sincerely,

what was the reason behind no putting them all up already for the entire season and then just pinning the current upcoming match to the top?

You don't question the Mad LionMOD King!

Putting up the whole season could get messy with all the threads (34 plus preseason) and then post-match threads. People wanted the upcoming matches, rather than just the next upcoming match, which is fair. So I think all the matches in a given month makes things easier in terms of posting. Rather than possible missing a midweek game after a Sunday, everything for the month is already up.

The most recent postmatch and then upcoming match threads are pinned for clarity and ease of access.

There haven't been postmatch threads for preseason matches since many are not broadcast so there's not a lot of talk about, so everything is just aggregated into one thread.

For planing purposes, how far into the current month will the next month be posted? Thanks

We were asked numerous times about adding more match day threads but as we’ve seen in the past little to no posting happens in those threads until they are the next game on the schedule. Only exceptions are marquee matchups and cup games.

How about a rolling posting always one month ahead?

(or even 2 weeks ahead)

This makes much more sense. Or if lazy, post them all now. And just pin the post match and the upcoming (don't worry we can handle it). Waiting to the end of the month is dumb; ex: we have a match vs PHI on Sat June 29, then a match vs SEA on Wed July 3. We can't post anything about a home match vs Seattle till 3 days prior?

Does it hurt to let those threads sit empty , or with few posts till they get pinned when it's their time? At least it gives people an option to talk about it somewhere. Just load them all up and pin the one coming up, lock up when the game starts.. Post-match can wait till after the matches of course.

The locked threads don’t just drop to the bottom. So they’re mixed up with normal match day threads. It’s worked out great the last 4 years and with the change Lion made we’ve doubled the amount of threads.

I'll do rolling four matches! Or something like that.

For what it's worth, when I was the admin of the mcfcnyc.org forums, once the schedule was released I would do the whole season at once in its own separate sub-forum, pinning four matches at the top. I'd have the current match, the next two, and the one past one pinned, And that one forum I'd keep sorted in alphabetical order so the matches (which where named starting with the numerical date) would sort sensibly. As each match "fell off" the schedule I'd move them to a completed matches sub and then pin the next one so the main fixtures sub would stay up to date.

Just my 2¢, and feel free to totally ignore.

Could you add an orange field for "Earliest possible 5-card suspension", as games roll and we start not seeing the previous games? in this case that would be the game after MTL. I think that would be cool. And then later also add the "fair play" thing where they remove cards, so we can have a cool visual of when players can get cards deducted, or when players will be suspended.
