Mark Geiger Out!

Smart move by PRO. When the union strikes, management, which now includes Geiger, will step onto the field. I wonder if they'll create a few more leadership roles for current MLS or international referees to have a good stockpile to use as leverage in collective bargaining.

The CBA expires in about a week and they have already authorized a strike. This is how we got Alan Kelly. He was brought in, right before the last strike, as a trainer. During the strike he stepped on the field and from what I've heard was grandfathered in with a special deal after the strike. He is probably the best ref in the league and is only here because he is not subject to the restrictions of the CBA. I'm hoping the league learns from this, let's the referees walk and bring in a bunch of higher quality referees for good!
