2019 Season Ticket Thread

I opted out before this season, but I've received two calls in the last week from my new rep. I missed both so he left voicemails. Nothing interesting like a special retention offer, at least not mentioned in the message, but mostly just a "hey we're still here if you miss it" type of thing.
I'm curious if they would allow me to retain my spot and founding member discount if I came back now. Has anyone else gotten these calls? Do they have some type of retention hook or are they just filling out some time in the slow season trying to pad some numbers?

idk, but it doesn’t hurt to ask / negotiate. In general, though, I don’t think they offer real incentives in connection with season ticket sales.

So before the season started I kind of did an estimate of what i think i could sell my new downgraded Cat 6 tickets on subhub. Real quick an dirty, didn't really put much thought into it but sorta based it off last years Cat 1 Sales. I still think I was being too optimistic but a couple of trade-ins kind of stand out. I think the club is way overvaluing SKC & HOU based on the team draw and day. These are going to be funding trades to pick up ATL or RB..... Kind of surprised ATL didn't get platinum status that looks cheap but its only $5 diff so meh. They would be a natural fit for LAFC but that game is too damn early in the season, It's a risky flip if there is a cold snap that week and you get stuck with even more tickets you couldn't sell. On the same thought, DC I gave way too high a value cause weather plays such a large factor in march. i do find DC games do tend to sell alright, but i think its too early. If I cannot sell these soon I am going to flip for RB for zero cost.

Naturally all the wednesday's are no brainer trades cause they really don't sell at all. I puked out of my Cat 1 Wednesdays last year I was trying to be harsh giving these Cat 6's a $10 but I don't know if anyone would even bother so high up. There is definitely going to be better Cats going for $10 I think i have no shot. So combining two of these to get a platinum makes sense but do we get to keep the excess $ to use for another trade or is it lost? I 'm betting its lost. So if you don't like to lose "value" rolling of of these into something like NE or Phi might make sense, but you have to spend more money on what is probably a loser. I don't know if I like that.

This leads me to think that fact that its a one way transaction where excess is lost but deficits need to be made up only stands to benefit the team but pumping a few last bucks into the system..... IDK just my initial quick thoughts. I'll reassess later.

BTW. I like how the team fudged the numbers so all the games add up to my founding member fee of $408. I mean they made bill well before the schedule was announced and surprise, surprise! their price guide says my tickets are worth exactly what I paid even after finding out we got 7 midweek, and a bi-polar weekend schedule where the only good draws are in the winter or end of season when we could be playing for nothing. I bet you whoever was in charge was pulling his hair out thinking how the hell am I going to justify all this midweek games and not have RB be worth 10x all other matches.

Also, if they were going to just target a number it would be nice if they included the BS $25 shipping and handling fee. I got two tickets so you can see my cost below for 1 ticket is $12.50 higher (half the fee). Do they think that the tchotchke crap they include is worth $25? I don't. Nor is it a gift if I am paying for it. Can't get my gratitude if I am unwillingly being sold. So then do they honestly think the cost of shipping a little package is $25? This day and age when everyone and their mother offers free shipping over $40. Naw, its just a stupid little money grab and for all intents and purposes i consider it a part of my season ticket fee. So really they are saying the sum of the matches is less then what we pay, IMHO.

I didn't add the dynamic pricing into my chart till you mentioned it. Cost me a few shekels in profit on the DCU match. I'm not sure why they think Thursday and Friday nights will sell better than Wednesday nights. It does feel very arbitrary. I think you're correct that it may be good strategy to push my April matches into June and July for a better return. Even upgrading. Moving Orlando (April) into NJ (August) for $4 a ticket seems like a steal based on expected demand. And with that added layer of strategy, this game just got a bit more fun.

EDIT: I added in that shipping cost you pointed out.

Tiered pricing is always going to be a net wash on the whole season. How could it not?

Read a rumor that Cityzens is finished after this season. Can anyone confirm?

Use them on what exactly..... End of Preseason Drinks? A midtown Brunch? A random scarf? There's nothing on the website worth getting, and considering how many points are probably left out there in accounts, and how poor the redemption options are, there will probably be a lot of forever unused points by the end of the season.

I got an email from my new rep yesterday. I asked about Citizens and said I have not received points for my tweets since May.
He replied that they are working on it.
This used to work great. I got a 1st year team signed ball and 2 opening day tickets signed by Villa.
Both with letters of authenticity after I asked for them.
The last thing I got was the star wars R2D2 shirt for my kid a few years back.
This is a great way to keep fans connected, hate to see it go.

With this much sponsorship I can't imagine the club is paying much if anything for this. Another case where it's actually worse than nothing IMO.

Def worse. Anyone wants to meet me in LB they got plenty of bars with $15 brunch specials and bottomless screwdrivers. Give me $30 and I’ll make you an unbranded NYCFC fanny pack.
