Anyone going to the City Hall event?

A very long non-impactful answer about a stadium, no audience q and a and the NYCFC folks bolted after a shortened program. Also, Alex Ring wears bizarre sneakers.
Didn't see you FredMertz FredMertz , sorry.

Ring's sneakers are Campers I think.

Ring and Reyna didn't stay for long at the "cocktail hour" (it was a choice of Heineken or Heineken Light).

Brad got mobbed but was super gracious.

I quite enjoyed hanging out with some fans I don't normally get to hang out with / have never met. 'twas nice to meet you sundance sundance . I might try and send out more notes later if people are keen.

The only interesting takeaway for me was that it seems Reyna has been encouraging Ring to be more aggressive offensively. He predicted 5 goals. Watch out Supporters section...
That was a fun running joke for sure.

It was so odd to me that they set up the stadium question first when he had such a crappy non- answer for it. Ian Joy built it up like Sims was going to announce a stadium.

Nah. He tried to sell it like he was really asking a "tough" question. It was just goofy.

After attending last night Town Hall, I recalled this article about Melbourne City, and their CEO leaving to take over CFG China.

"Although the club has struggled to make inroads with fans and attendance numbers, it's been hailed as a financial success by its Abu Dhabi-based owners. The sale of Aaron Mooy alone covered the entire cost of buying the club's licence for CFG.

So CFG, has decided to embrace the go young so they can flip and make a profit to recoup their costs and brought in a former CRO to take over the team to make some additional revenue.

I wonder if anyone knows the first time they said “very near future” in regards to the stadium. I feel like we’ve been sold that line since at least 2016. And it’s been a lie. And someone needs to call them out on LYING.

I remember Patricof saying "soon" regarding a stadium announcement in February 2017. He says he doesn't remember saying that.

Soon they'll forget about our bricks too. Then ever even searching for a stadium site....

I think that would coincide when I heard about our architect (that turned out to be a lie by them too).
