I was going to reply with this but it’s pointless. We’ve been as close to a DP striker as we have to a stadium announcement.

Well a DP striker is impossible according to MLS rules unless we dump Medina (we should). A stadium announcement could happen at any moment of any time.

Why is everyone assuming the rumored player K Kjbert hinted at is from Man City? Here's what he said:

"First, there is a player that CFG has wanted for NYCFC for a couple of years. That player is being made available this summer. He fills a position of clear need."

That does not sound like someone moving within the umbrella. That sounds like someone CFG does not currently employ.

Because in my case I'm assuming CFG is more likely to dump a player Man City has no use for on us than them spending real money for a game changer.
I feel like Mitri is going to be the best we're going to get for a while. Hope I'm wrong.

Why would any Man City player agree to transfer for a TAM salary?

Re-posting the info that started this whole discussion a few pages back since we seem to be spiraling into some sort of telephone game:

I want to set proper expectations and I’ll choose my words purposefully. What i said is part little birdie, part connecting the dots and part conjecture. Maybe in equal parts.

First, there is a player that CFG has wanted for NYCFC for a couple of years. That player is being made available this summer. He fills a position of clear need. All of this is fact.

Medina has not progressed at the rate the club hoped. We have 3 DPs and he is the least valuable. All fact.

Now to the dots. Medina has been moved down the depth chart. The further down he goes or stays, the less valuable he is. And the more expendable he becomes. If he’s not valuable and there is a player available who would be a big success, those are your dots.

My conjecture? The less he starts and plays, the higher the chances he moves on. I don’t know if there is a market. My conjecture is that CFG would “assume” him rather than sell for a loss right now.

Rumor is that it would be a DP not TAM with Medina departing. The original info also said nothing about it being an MCFC player so I have no idea why a few posters seemed to fixate on MCFC players unless others know something I don't.

It could be a player who belongs to ManCity but has never (or not recently) been close to making it to the first team, but rather has been lent several to less competitive leagues, or maybe a ManCity U-23. I mean, right now Mix Diskerud belongs to ManCity...

I think the comments suggesting Silva or Aguero were either made in jest or under the influence.

I thought Mix’s contract was owned by Umbro? No lie
Didn’t he transfer outright to his Korean team? I seem to recall his Swedish team wanted him but he took a bigger offer from Korea.

His next stop is within France. And the. Probably a permanent move somewhere in France.
