Well the previews for next week had her about to address the troops, which I'm totally looking forward to just to see what she can possibly say. And wearing black as well!

Yeah, I was watching it just confused as to why she wanted to burn the entire city down only to have to rebuild it??? I guess she’s tight with the masons’ Union who’s super slow at the moment and in need of focus employment, and is looking for the kickbacks from the contracts, but still..... and to think she was observant enough earlier in the episode to realize the country doesn’t like her so she decides to lash out with a Sherman's March ala “if they didn’t like me before, they’re gonna love me now” type afternoon.
And if I didn’t know better, she looked like she had the flu more so than just being Mad - Stannis seemed a bit Mad murdering his brother by a shadow baby and his daughter burned at the stake, all the while calm & focused in his mind that it was a means to an end, but Daenerys just seemed like the “feverish” type Mad brought on by a debilitating virus - a far cry from her earlier seasons’ atrocities, when she was cool as a cucumber, when crucifying slavers, sacking cities, burning the old ladies/Dothraki, locking that dude in the vault, executing Sam’s fam, etc. She was always cruel/viscous but did so with a methodical/calm madness of conqueror rather than a raving lunatic.
I think they tried to make it look like she hadn't eaten/starving herself post Missandei/Rhaegal's deaths. Did look like the flu or a bad cold. Maybe the Westerosi food just never agreed with her in the few months she's been here, and regrets leaving the spicier/tastier food from Essos?
No Azor Ahai, no valonqar, no regard for logical continuity or character development, no sense that the showrunners understand or care about the story. The Behind the Episodes segments usually make things worse.
I'm all for treating and enjoying the show as a separate entity from the books, but GRRM now has basically carte blanche to write whatever he wants and have it be lauded as being better than the show. So well played by him, I guess
I'm fifty fifty at best that he ever finishes the books. I have a friend who's convinced he already has and that it's part of a marketing deal that he wouldn't release them till after the show. I think it's more likely he never gets to them just sort of thinks people have seen how it ends , didn't really like it, and he's seemingly had writers block on fleshing it out for years, he's not young etc. We'll probably be in a stadium before these books happen.
Winds of Winter has supposedly been finished for 2 years and he keeps editing it. There have been numerous chapters already released or read at conventions. I agree A Dream of Spring (the last book) may in fact never happen, or take another decade for it to come out.
Also think Stadium before last GOT book. Maybe we need to move this to the Stadium Discussion.
He got drunk on the celebrity & money from the show’s success. He’s doing so many appearances it’s ridiculous- not bemoaning his opportunity to cash in and enjoy the ride, but it’s really amazing the odyssey he’s undertaken to finish it. At a certain point (if it’s not a marketing ploy to hold out until after HBO/provide alternate ending to HBO) I’m just surprised he hasn’t wanted to simply end the saga and baggage of having an unfinished work of art.
Plus, I’d like him to focus on some other referenced stories, like Euron’s exploration/plunder of Valyria, or something from the viewpoint of the wildlings - maybe Mance Rayder and his transition from crow to free folk, etc.
Every successful fantasy/sf series post LOTR gets bloatier and bloatier as they go on. Success begets editors who can no longer say no or authors who will no longer listen to it.

if Varys' plan to poison Dany came to fruition so many people would still be alive.
I disagree, Tyrion clearly had been trying to prevent Cersei dying because even though he hates her and she hates him, neither want the other to actually die. We can see that when Cersei never kills Tyrion, and Tyrion never kills Cersei when given the chance. Therefore, he never would have mentioned it so people would know to send assassins in through that gate. Instead, he kept it secret and realized that Cersei was 100% about to die, so he tells Jaime about it so that he could go get Cersei out of there.
Cersei sent Bronn to kill him and offered him a giant reward.
Bronn's whole thing was stupid. Even if they win who was he gonna collect from. Did he think Dany was just gonna give him Highgarden because Jaime or Tyrion said so?
I would say there has to be a reason why Cersei sent him to kill Jamie/Tyrion only to have a 5 minute conversation, but then again...
Agree it was dumb. Danny, John, Sansa. No one is giving Tyrion Highgarden or the Reach. And how is it resolved? Either Bronn has to show up and kill Tyrion in the last episode. Or one of the best characters in the series has zero resolution to his arc.
