Seattle - Postmatch

When is Heber back?

GMS not available until the Derby?

Wouldn't expect him until after NJ. Not worth rushing back for. Dome has his work cut out for him after Sunday.

ETA: We had some Dundee supporters in our section tonight who were so excited for him to be in NYC. "He's going to light the place up." Makes sense because we've been after him for 12 months. Maybe we saw why, with ITS slumping a bit. Guessing we'd get a GMS update this week, no? Or at least a training sighting? He's at least available after the 9th, so technically available for Orlando.

Is he eligible for the Open Cup? Did we have to submit a roster?

I’m going to assume we see some type of rotation on Sunday. Ofori for Parks. Medina for Isi. Maybe a Haak sighting.

By Opta's model, Medina's goal had an 89% chance of scoring. Back post runs are definitely his game.

This team is so much fun to watch when they're playing well. So much attacking talent, and in the second half some really nice creativity.

Happy for Medina that he finally got the monkey off his back -- it had been nearly a year since he got on the scoresheet. Good for him.

Rewatching now and the first goal doesn’t happen if Taty doesn’t muscle up and win the ball back and then shield the ball from the defender a few moments earlier. Strong play from Taty that won’t make the box score.

So no one wants to talk about how Mitrita has literally one move, which he did 5 times to no avail today?
I was sitting in the bleachers next to this guy who 'claims' (he showed us pictures too so idk...) he is a coach for programs and sometimes gets to meet the NYCFC players, and he also said the same thing we said about Medina/Mitrita/Taty- but specifically about Mitrita that he could develop and become extremely good, but apparently in training he's really selfish, and to quote this coach man, "in order to grow and be a good player, you have to not only calculate plays in your head, but let other people help calculate them for you!"

edit: fixed some grammar

Let's just give some praise to Ofori's rocket from like 30 yards.

Also, for the second goal, Taty flicked it past that Seattle player, drove upfield and fed that ball to Medina. Great stuff.

First half, though, we were able to tear apart their midfield (albeit with far too many turnovers) but just could not find a pass or shot which didn't end up blocked or intercepted.
And on that second goal, Taty’s decision to make the late run into the box is what allowed him to be in the right position to receive that cross from Maxi.

He’s not just scoring goals, he’s making a lot of great smaller plays that are helping this team
