New Jersey Red Bulls vs. New York City Football Club
Red Bull Arena
Sunday, July 14th 6:30 PM ET
FS1

The first year when the Hudson River Derby will be only taking place twice during the MLS regular season.

FOR THOSE ATTENDING VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The direct PATH train from the World Trade Center to Harrison is NOT running because of the tunnel closure for Hurricane Sandy repairs. You have to take the Orange Line to Grove Street or Journal Square then transfer to the Red Line to Harrison. You can get the Orange Line from 33rd, 23rd, 14th, 9th, and Christopher Streets in Manhattan.

Holy shit, what. So when I say, I am not a rb fan due to travel reason. I'm not crazy, right.

This is the first season where the PATH trains are not running directly to Harrison from NYC (on the weekends). In prior years, the WTC Path station was open on the weekends, and you could take the PATH train from NYC directly to Harrison in about ~25 mins.

Does NYCFC have any players left that are not injured or exhausted? Setting up to get rolled in this one. 5 games in 15 days.

I take solace in How quickly you’ve moved on from including Mitrita.... he’s scratched through as opposed to being listed as injured.

I've been scratching through the injured players that are not supposed to play, and I've been italicizing the ones that are questionable. ITS wasn't in the 18 against Orlando, presumably because of his injury. That's why I wrote "injured" after the "0" for minutes. I realize now that's confusing, but that was the idea.

Adding the minutes in Wednesday's game was an attempt to understand who on the depth chart might be fresh enough to play a full game on Sunday. Hopefully, 3 full days off will help everyone, but that was a long hot game, and the team has logged a lot of minutes lately.
  • Striker: Since Heber and Taty split the game, we are good at striker.
  • Winger: More problematic. Maxi, our best player, went 110 in a game that Dome said he wouldn't play due to minutes he had already accumulated. That said, I can't see him sitting; I just hope he will be effective when he plays. Medina went 120 and was a mixed bag at best. GMS will probably play some, but has he spent enough time with the Club for that to be anything more than a sub off the bench? I would feel a lot better if we knew Isi was going to be available. It's also possible that Taty shifts to wing for some or all the match.
  • Center Mid: Parks and Ofori should both be good to go. Ring is the big question; he went 120 against Orlando and the full 90 in every other game this year, except NC. Still, he is like Maxi - indispensable; I think he starts and maybe gets subbed out for a CB or CM, depending on the situation.
  • FB/WB: Tinnerholm went 40, so he should be fine for Sunday. Both guys on the left, however, went the full 120, with Mata starting the two games before that, and Sweat starting the last game (Portland) and subbing into Seattle. Maybe check with physio and start the guy who is recovering the best.
  • CB: Callens should start. The question is who plays to his right? Both guys have put in a ton of minutes the last 2 weeks. I guess go with Chanot unless there is a substantial physio advantage for Ibeagha.
  • GK: Johnson! (Thanks, Stoove - you were great)

Not the first season this has happened.

Not sure what you mean - but I used to love going to games at RBA - they closed Tracks in Penn Station and a Newark bar which was part of a fun pre-game crawl but I’d rather pregame and postgame across the bridge in Newark than the Bronx, personally. My travel time from Brooklyn was the same.

That said, fuck Red Bull. Was Maxi just cramping Wednesday or did he feel a twinge?
