USMNT Talk

There appears to be a bunch of internal pushback to the Berhalter regime.

"...a behind-the-scenes revolt against the federation’s most powerful executives, notably its longtime chief executive, Dan Flynn, who plans to retire this summer, and his top deputy and potential successor, Jay Berhalter."

You can’t have a brother GM in charge of firing his brother the coach. There should be pushback. I don’t care how qualified both are, only 1 can hold the position and Greg got the job first.

Yeah, was thinking about that earlier - would seem the Greg’s hire would block any chance of Jay’s ascension to the top since the ethics of brother reporting to brother in a non-family owned company is pretty bankrupt.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened though. The nepotism is strong.
If Jay becomes CEO, and we qualify for the WC 2022, we'll probably have Gregg as head coach for quite a while.

Got this today...

I made the mistake of watching them lose to Costa Rica a year or two ago at RBA. Their fans were pretty abusive towards the US fans. I'm sure it'll be the same at MetLife.

Go see Vampire Weekend at Madison Square Garden. Tickets will probably be the same price. You won't have to deal with a 80% Mexican fan filled stadium. And you don't have to figure out how to get to and from New Jersey.

Not a bad idea tbh. Nice way to end the summer.

Sure beats listening to "pppuutttooo" all night.

My dog has a better touch and more spatial awareness than Zardes.

We can't pass and can't handle the press.

At least I didn't have to watch Bradley tonight.

This is the first time since supporting the USA, I am actually glad they got pummelled.

US Soccer must be the most inept orgnasiation on the planet for thinking Berhalter was the right coach.

Meanwhile, Tata Martino makes it look easy coaching Mexico.

[SMH]..... Will Trapp and Zardes.... what do they both have on Berhalter.... they’re like the inept boss’ children getting executive positions in the family company yet neither even took the time to earn a GED.

This insanity has to stop soon...
