Need 3 points. Will be interesting to see if Miller gets a start at RB.

Are you thinkin Anton needs a rest? I think Dome plays him unless he's injured because getting the top spot in the east is most important right now. Don't think Dome will field backup players in any position unless absolutely necessary.

This will be a big test for us with SJ's man marking. WIth our short passing style of play, we have to be really brave and really clean on all our passes, or we're going to be giving it away constantly. Not only that, we will need to constantly be moving or there will be no options to pass at all. SJ have a good squad when they are on too. Wondo and Vako are dangerous. Not sure if Vako is back from international duty yet, but if he is, he's one to watch out for.

We'll have home field advantage of course and the fact that SJ will be coming from Utah on short rest. Here's hoping all our guys are back to play and we can convincingly get those 3 points.

Always one of my favorite dates on the calendar. My childhood club vs my newfound side piece. A 9:30am kickoff to boot!

People are really sleeping on the Quakes this year. Everyone is talking about Curtin and Bradley as coach of the year (rightly so) but Almeyda has seriously done incredible things in SJ. I can’t overstate the steaming pile of shit this team has been for the last few years.

But this year has been amazing. The players are having fun. The fans are having fun. Wondo is still out there banging them in. Vako is actually playing like a DP. The playoff race in the west is extremely tight, and it’s awesome seeing the Quakes legit in the hunt. Too bad they lost at RSL tonight, which are biting at their heels. Quakes have everything to play for, so expect them to come out strong. But if they are anything like the Sharks, they will really struggle with. 9:30am pst kickoff. Hard to get into game mode that early.

Also, Almeyda has been serving a three game suspension and will return against us on Saturday.

NYCFC vs SJQ have always been fun, so really looking forward to this one!

On the plus side SJ has been absolute shit on the road lately. So I guess we got that going for us.

12:30? Will mimosas be provided upon entry?
Oh you soab, guess what I'm getting at 1130 when hates open.

If we get the three points, it leaves us in a great position however the key games are Philly and Atlanta. I say win this, win phily and atl and I'm not too worried about the other games.

Rested Maxi, callens back and we should be soild. Any update on Heber? Is it still three weeks?

SJ is coming off a road game at RSL Wed night and will play at 1230 on Saturday (basically playing Sat morning Pacific time).

If NYCFC wants first in the East this is pretty much a must win with the difficult four games they have after this.

Hammering NYCFC in the sportsbook. West coast team having to travel to the east coast with essentially a 9:30 start time for them. Could be a big win for us.

Probably not a big deal.

Most teams hold practice at 9am so their bodies are prepped for playing.

Also as a side comparison- every marathon with the exception of a few are conducted in the 6-7am zone, early morning max efforts aren’t a problem for those pros and weekend warriors, so focused soccer players shouldn’t have an issue with the exertion either. If anything, a 12:30 time for NYCFC is more out of the norm because that’s typically when bodies are recharging with lunch.

In the NFL west coast teams are horrid on the east coast for 1pm kickoffs. They’ve been outscored 202-56 in the first half in since 2002.

From 2003 to 2018, west coast teams have gone 80-133 (37.6%) in all start times on the east coast. It’s gotten to the point two years ago west coast nfl owners petitioned the league to not allow 1pm kickoffs for west coast teams on the east coast. The vote did not pass.

Do we have a real advantage? Who knows, but the nfl stats seem to point in our favor for sure.
