Plus, it's not as if the City has never had 3 teams playing concurrently before. I don't feel like looking it up, but I assume it happens on occasion.
Between Yankee Stadium, Citi/Tennis, MSG and Barclays, whether it be sporting events or concerts, they fill up lots of dates. I'm sure it's fairly routine to have conflicts.

Sure, that's all very true. But I think a World Series home game puts a lot more stress on the NYPD than a regular-season game. We're talking two playoff games here, not regular-season. And an opening night for the Nets. None of those events are normal. Of course they can handle it, I'm just surprised that with all those potential events going on, MLS still put our game on Wednesday.

Vanney mentioned after the game possibly 2 weeks for Jozy to be back, which would mean he'd be available for the first playoff game. Then the quick turnaround to play us a few days later. Do they dare go into the DCU game without him?

DC should put pictures of Jamie Vardy wearing a Toronto jersey up in their locker room and around the practice field and put his face on every free-kick mannequin. Get Rooney fired up and pissed off and ready to chew the head off a live rat.

lol i was just reading up on that story, some weird ass drama

better not ask Orlando.

i think if we keep it eastern conf, montreal would be a good choice for a practice game.

if we're going league wide, then san jose would be fantastic. their high pressure and tight man marking will really test our short passing and off the ball movement.

I’d want the team that plays as similar to Toronto as possible. Columbus would be a good option.

Why would any of the teams who did not make the playoffs have a game with us? I have to imagine the players have already gone home and have no contractual obligations to show up for training or friendlies. I don't see what either the team or players gets out of it. Players out of contact or with club options especially have everything to lose.

FWIW, I know some players on eliminated teams are looking for some way to stay fit for their international duties coming up in November. I read an article (I think on the league's website), that some of them were looking to discuss with their clubs on how they could do so.

I've seen some teams here and there do post season friendlies. I agree they do seem like a bad idea for some players who will be out of contract and risk injury, and there is no legitimate benefit to the players at all. Only thing I can see is maybe the coach has said that a few positions are open and this gives a few players to fight for a spot?
Why don't we play Chicago? Bring Basti here as a retirement game!!! (Yes, that is my only desire to bring the Fire here)

I saw that too. It would be cool to have the scrimmage against those players, but I'm not sure how likely that is, either.
