Premier League 2019/20

I think VAR might be worse in the Premier League than in MLS.

Yea.

But City aren't helping themselves.

Rodri is just not as good as fernandinho at d mid. Stones is just unreliable.

At first handball should have been a pk under the letter of the law. Would have changed the game.

I don't care what the rules say now or in the past...that was a handball. Unfortunate, but a clear handball.

And it's clear and obvious. I just don't understand how it doesn't get reviewed. Terrible. Changes the game.

Also the clear and obvious standard is such a joke. Let's keep a wrong call wrong because it isn't wrong enough.

That was delightful. Raise your hand if you knew Liverpool was going to score once the handball was called for and not given. It was inevitable, regardless of your POV. I think it probably is a handball under current rules. But it also looked like Silva whacked the ball with his arm into TAA's arm. Would have been a travesty if VAR went back to the possession switch, which is all it is allowed to do, wiped out the Liverpool goal and awards a PK to Man City, which they would have won due to another handball. Unless that PK decision allows a further review back?
Or maybe the VAR looked at the entire run of play regardless of what was allowed and used common sense to let everything stand.
Biggest what if to me is whether the officials rule differently in Manchester, both the original call and the review.

Regardless, extremely satisfying result. I have had limited opportunities to enjoy Man City tears in the last couple of years so it's always special to relish these moments.

Exact opposite reaction I haven’t found a team as odious as this Liverpool since the heyday of Fergie Man U . All the late goals being given every single possible decision the arrogant overly abundant fans the parrrallels are numerous .

Ball def. went of Silva as a result of the tackle on him and then it went of TAA's arm down to his thigh. Weird to me that most of the city players just stopped playing - which is a big reason why I think liverpool was able to counter.

To me, it's a handball and should have been called with a VAR review. Pure speculation on my part, but I feel like if it hadn't hit TAA and had gone past him to Sterling and Sterling scores, they probably would have reviewed the goal, saw that it went of Silva's arm and disallowed the goal since the current rules make such contact a 'handball'.

All in all, just shows that VAR is very inconsistent in the EPL and arguably is the worst application of VAR in the world. It just baffles me that it can be used so well at the world cup but so poorly in individual leagues. Even more baffling that refs in EPL think they're above going to the monitor for a 30 second review.

Not too long ago he was being hailed as the next Real Madrid manager. Bet he has success somewhere else though. Spurs are in shambles.

If I remember correctly, Allegri was gonna take the Spurs job but went to Juventus instead. That opened the door up for Poch. Maybe nows the right time.

So spurs who don't like to spend money hire a guy who needs to spend money. This isn't a Jose roster. Should be interesting.
