Expansion Rumors Megathread

i recall listening to a miami soccer podcast couple months ago( magic soccer city ? something like that) and they said that their "source" said that it was very real possibility that Ft Lauderdale may end up being permanent, killing the whole miami city vibe and effectively making it miami fusion 2.0. starting to feel like a bait and switch here because those "enhancements" to lockhart dont seem to be just for an academy team.
Fusion started to draw good crowds the last year when they had a good team.

then i dont know what the host in podcast was referring to then. i guess hes just going with the fact that it died that inter miami has the same risk if its stays in ft lauderdale for too long. do you see any issues if inter miami stays there?

Weren’t they basically Chelsea jerseys ?
Nope.

First home match. MLS schedule first game is February 29.

That makes sense to why we might play in citi too.
Agreed. Though I will point out again that based on the Yankees schedule, we will have the same weekend availability next season that we had for this past season, so it is still possible to only be at YS. But is the multitude of weekday games worth it?

I mean, that's probably why they'd prefer a split, so they could do more weekends.

No, it is not. Better to have 4 games on a weekend at Citi than have those on a Wednesday night in the Bronx.

I hope we have some more Sunday games that's really that only thing that works for me coming down from CT these days had very few this past season if I recall.

I tend to agree, though I'm not quite sure yet how I feel about Citi Field. I think I may be more in the boat of lets not move any weekend YS games to weekend Citi Field games, but I probably would be more on board with weeknight YS games becoming weekend Citi Field games.

I mostly just wanted to point out that based on the "current perceived" schedule for Yankee Stadium next year, the club should be able to host the same amount of MLS games at YS should they want to.

I hate that Chicago is the changing from soccer club to football club. I try never to force usage on anyone. You say soccer, great. You say football, good for you. Our team is NYCFC. Fine. But to switch an existing team name because you value world opinion and oikophobic affectations over what comes naturally to you in the most middle American city there is? It's just running away from who you are while pretending to be celebrating it.

"We represent Chicago (as long as Chicago means affecting non-standard American usage)."

And yeah, the logo is dumb, too..
