2020 CCL

Well then they should give up their Canadian status just be considered American clubs like who Swansea and Cardiff are considered English clubs in Wales.

this is the solution....if they really want to push for it. Though i dont think vancouver or montreal are pushing for this since they only been in CCL due to to Voyagers cup not because they are close to winning the MLS cup.

Yeah, and what would usually happen is an MLS team winning the Canadian Championship tournament, sending them to the CONCACAF League, while the CPL winner would usually go directly to the Champions League (unless a Canadian MLS team won the MLS Cup). Which is backwards.
ohhhh you're saying because they're all mls teams. I see what you mean. So you could send them to concacaf league, unless they win MLS in which case CPL team goes to concacaf league...

Part of a thread. MLSPA President Bob Foose says CCL can proceed under current terms if both sides agree even if new deal is not reached. Not sure if that means only up to the point the regular MLS season starts or what.

It's also confusing because previous tweet in the thread that says the pressure is to make a deal "by end of preseason in late February" but don't we expect the season to begin in mid-February now?

Can’t wait until America shows up to MCU Park to play CCL

it will be filled up for sure, and they wont give a fuck its in a baseball stadium. the only liga mx team may not fill up is leon.

lol he then tracks back saying other options are citi field/ YS.
I think you misread, because he was less than clear. But I think he meant the second tweet that mentions YS, Citi and St Johns to round out the possible 4 venues for the year that he mentions in the first tweet. I don't think he was saying those were all possibilities to host CCL. In fact, in another tweet he explains that he was told they can't play all the CCL games in YS, even if scheduling is clear, because their contract for YS has a cap on the number of games.

christ alive.... I hope they make the tickets for those games optional because that's gonna be a bitch to get to/from on a work night!

Sorry boss, i'm leaving like 2 hours early....

i guess i can see that re reading it. he could of tweeted about the limit right after the brooklyn tweet. still, the news on cap of games at YS is more newsworthy here.

Why in the world would there be a cap on the number of games played? What purpose would that serve? And why couldn't it be worked around given that the landlord is also a part owner of the team?

The real reason for a move seems rather obvious. The attendance for a CCL game in February is not going to be big enough to justify opening Yankee Stadium (or Citi Field).
