2020 General MLS Transfer Rumors

Chicago could have gotten something for him, but they just cleaned house, cut everyone and preferred to start clean even if it meant foregoing compensation for some worthwhile assets. They don't have anything close to a roster to speak of. Their ceiling is high, but if they are not very adept, they could be abysmal this year, even if they build well for 2021.

this could be a real kick in the face to the rest of the league.....

he might sign with them, but he will barely get any playing time. he's a poacher type striker, which seems to be dio's role at LAFC and dio is much younger. much respect for BWP, but if he joins LAFC, he's joining to be a depth player off the bench.

He was also injured virtually all of last season. If he can stay healthy, sure he might be able to score some goals. But he will be 35 years old in March. How much more does he have to give? He couldn't get starts on a bad offensive Red Bulls team. How is he going to see the field on a good LAFC offensive team?

so... are you agreeing with my assessment?

Yes. Good for him that he's latching on somewhere, but I can't imagine how he sees the field there. He could barely get on the pitch for a bad Red Bulls team.

ATL is crazy not to give gressel a raise. He has proven time and time again to be their best crosser and works extremely well with josef. without gressel serving him the ball, i'm not sure josef scores as many goals.

DC seem to have a really strong squad this year. ATL is losing a lot of players. What is FdB up to? I can't recall them making any big signings to strengthen their squad this off season...

ALSO - Chicharito to LAG is now official.

so out of the team in the east....DC really powered up, orlando to an extent, i think NE will be better under a full year under arena.

agree. i think the east is going to be a very strong conference this year. based on the signings, i think the league as a whole is going to be much more competitive this season. Miami and Nashville are wild cards of course. but a lot of teams made some power moves this off season. it's going to be exciting this year for sure.

i would love to see LAFC not make the playoffs though. just cause.
