Am I desperate enough to watch NYCFC's e-sports guy play a game of FUT against the Whitecaps e-sports guy today?

There is a full replay of the 2011 champions league game between Man U and Barca. Great way to watch the legendary barca team of 2010-11.

I am by nature impatient with people who don't know how to walk in public: not staying to the right, clustering at choke points instead of in wide spaces a few yards away, walking 3+ abreast. But now it's all I can do to not just keep yelling "SIX FEET YOU FUCKING MORONS!"
Felt the same way today on my run. Stay to the right, not the middle. If a family, stay bunched and not scattered with the kids everywhere. And stop Fcking playing basketball and handball. There’s literally a group of our population that is actively testing Darwinism.

Amazon yourself a fire stick as a short term solution?
We have both a Fire Stick and Apple TV, and watch most of our TV via streaming. But for current first run network shows the DVR handles everything. Plus my wife has about 10 movies recorded from TCM that she's working through and she would prefer not to lose.

But good news: once again rebooting fixes everything. The error message just said the unit hard drive was broken, and to call and order a replacement. But I knew better. This morning before calling I briefly disconnected power, the machine restarted, noticed the hard drive issue, and fixed itself. It must have been a file system corruption. But not before we watched NCIS in real time last night. With commercials. Like animals.

Commercials are the worst. The lack of them may be the biggest single reason I got into soccer.

1. Whoever made the decisions for various operating systems to hide file extensions from users by default is my enemy.
2. Since when does the ".dms" file extension error happen on Windows machines downloads?
3. How is the ".dms" error still happening at east 10 years after it started?
4. Providing tech support to family members long distance is no fun.

Also, Windows 10 should have a built in pdf file reader besides Edge. Using a browser to open pdfs is a kludgy solution.

i find getting family members to install chrome helps a lot, since that's also the browser i'm most familiar with. you can also do chrome remote desktop very easy, which allows for easy troubleshooting. I know windows allows for remote desktop support as well, but it's a bit clunkier to get set up for someone with no tech ability.

i haven't used a windows machine as my personal workstation in years. i don't miss all the windows bs and don't look forward to having to deal with again someday out of necessity.

My daughter, whose crisis this was, already uses Chrome. Using that, she downloaded a timed test which was supposed to be a pdf but somehow downloaded with a dms extension, so Chrome wouldn't open it. When I told her to rename the extension part of the file the OS wouldn't let her. Edge only came into play because I thought maybe she could right click the file and force open it with the built in pdf viewer (like Preview on a Mac) but she told me the only built-in default pdf viewer in Windows 10 is Edge. It really doesn't matter -- using any browser as a default pdf viewer is a kludge.

I used to know Windows pretty well but not any more. I only use it at work and there almost every admin function is locked off from me so I really don't know how things work.

same here. windows is for work and i use a chromebook/linux for my primary workstation.

sounds like the school is at fault for sending out a .dms file and not pdf or at least not giving adequate instructions how to take the test! hope the fiasco did not impact her ability to take the test.

chrome's PDF viewing is actually pretty good. definitely not a full acrobat experience, but you can highlight, annotate, and even keyword search if the PDF was generated properly. no idea how it looks in EDGE.

She said the test went OK; the professor gave them ample time so she finished even though she lost 20 minutes opening the file. And it didn't affect any of her friends so it's a bit of a mystery. If the file was uploaded with a corrupted filename that should have been a universal problem.
I find Chrome's pdf capabilities spotty. Every now and then I hit a .pdf link on the web and it opens up looking like document source code. Then i switch to Firefox and it opens fine.

For all the recent shit the rest of the country and pundits are giving Cuomo on NYS’ response, with lower approval ratings that other governors, because of the high numbers, it’s baffling that nobody is considering that it’s now widely believed the virus hit the city in January (or sooner since France has now figured out it hit them in December) and testing was only started/available in March - so there were two(+) months that had an unchecked virus running rampant via the cramped subways/elevators/office spaces/schools. Two months is a long time to allow it to multiply, and considering the curve has been flattened to such a degree in the two months since, while the rest of the country is in free-fall even after having watched NY, is a testament to the actions NY took. But people are only looking at the final numbers, which are horrendous, but not unexpected if the state was never warned in January that the risk was nuclear nor provided with usable tests.

Cuomo ain’t perfect, but he was dealt a shitty hand that’s he’s played well enough to not only stay in the game (word not meant to trivialize this) but positioned to make it to the end, whenever that may be. And he’s being smart waiting to reopen until more is known and numbers further diminish. Now if only he can figure out a good plan for opening the schools back up..... nothing can happen in the city without childcare/schools being open and safe.

He did an awful job not noticing this was happening until mid-March -- and remember, de Blasio was the first person to suggest closing the economy down. Cuomo didn't want to do it (partly because it was de Blasio's idea), and had to be dragged kicking and screaming into it. Once he did close the state down, he's handled the aftermath as well as could be expected. But he completely blew the response before March 15.
