COVID-19 - Leagues Suspended

The ironic thing is NYCFC is having this problem because it actually built a training facility in New York.

Also -- there is a non-zero chance NYCFC will play more games at Yankee Stadium this year than the Yankees. I think MLB will come to some sort of resolution with the MLB union and play games, but it's possible they don't, in which case YS will be completely open for any number of NYCFC games this summer and fall.

Despite the media sensationalizing 22 states at all time highs the positivity rate is still staying the same. I’m not discounting a second wave in Florida. It’s actually hitting closer to home than ever before. A lot of people seem to be catching it in restaurants and bars. They shut down 6 in my area due to positive tests results from employees.

To be fair, NY hasn't allowed full-team training yet, so they have no choice but to go to Jersey to train.
Yeah, I understand there will be some jokes and whatnot, but I don't understand some of the vitriol I'm seeing from fans on Twitter about this.

What do we want the team to do? Not practice together as a team at all?

playing devils advocate here. this year has been terrible already playing two games in RBA and now using their training facilities? looks worse, i guess people wanted them to train elsewhere, rent out a community college field or something.

Eh... I think everyone is way more understanding of this situation compared to the stadium fiasco(s). Using their training ground isn’t because our club is incompetent, it’s because of state laws and regulations.

Exactly. I credit them for finding an outside-the-box way to get the team training again and not fall behind in preparation for the restart of the season.

ill be honest i havent really checked the responses, i just based it off his findings.

it is much more complex than being "concacafed" in stadium selection.

The Premier League resumes today. Currently have Sheffield United vs. Aston Villa on; Manchester City vs. Arsenal later.

And I just wanted to write that I hope everyone is doing well during these weird times. Working from home, being an essential worker, being furloughed, being laid off can all be difficult times. We're more worried about our families, health, and livelihood possibly now than ever before. I'm glad we all together have this NYCFC Forums community which can be an escape at times from the day to day.

It's been an interesting time. I was furloughed from my full time job with 2/3 pay for 12 weeks (not a bad deal honestly) all while having a kid and being confined to a hospital room for 3 days. At the same time, I started a new business which has been mostly idled right at the start. Certainly not how I saw things going this year, and this was almost the worst possible time for this for me personally due to the exposure I had from my start up investments. I truly would have been happy to have soccer during this time, so I'm thrilled to start seeing games again!

Fortunately, I was able to tap my 401k penalty free so I didn't have to worry about living expenses, so the forced vacation and life adjustments actually ended up being such a positive for me. Im not saying im happy this all happened, but im happy that I've made the most out of all of this and I've been forced to do things that I think i will be better for.

Now let's get back to soccer! Send all the players and their family to a secluded resort and let them play out the whole season!

Damn! That's a refreshingly positive outlook for what has been a rather unsettling string of events. I mean, you haven't had the worst 2020 but that's reasonably rough and you're happy. In 2020, that's very refreshing. Thank you for sharing.
