I'm cool with it. Makes a ton of sense, gives them some extra time to get it right too. Maybe a bit of a blessing in disguise. Will 2021 be the year of Boro's WP stadium announcement? I wonder if they're waiting on a Mets sale to sure it up with the new owner as a partner. Arod, JLo, and Villa; that's a hell of a face for ownership.

I know I'm being super anal, but can LionMOD please clean up the title of the thread?

when this team does exist, i really dont think we will send kids there to play. It really feels villa wants to do his own thing independently with his academy as a true pipeline for his team.

Thank you!

And this makes so much sense. Queensboro FC needs gate revenue so if they can't get 100% fans in a stadium by 2021 confirmed by now it's good they delayed the inaugural season.

i wonder what the cost will be to get Lionesque tickets to Boro matches in 22.

I don't think they'll offer the same amenities as NYCFC. But I'd put it at something like $2,125 a season (based on a 17 game home season).

its supposed to be a modular stadium like phoenix, i dont think there are many premium options there.

Email from the club just now:

Today, we announce the decision to move Queensboro FC’s debut season in the USL Championship to 2023. Notwithstanding our eagerness to take the field in March, our priority is long-term success. 2022 presents an opportunity to perfect the planning for the opening of New York City’s first soccer-specific stadium at York College and to grow our community development initiatives.

Queensboro II will defend its title in the USL Academy League in 2022, and we will debut our Women’s team in the USL W League.

i wonder if they are concerned that not many people will go out to games as some people still concerned with covid?
My guess is that the stadium just isn't going to be ready. They didn't announce it all that long ago and the season starts up only four months from now. And they still have to sell tickets, organize a front office, and, ya know, put together a team. That's a lot of things to get ready in a very short time.

Anybody live close by and can go take a look? I might hop on the subway tomorrow to see what's up. If anything.

but i assumed this was planned when they announced the stadium it this year? i starting it now it wont be ready but it would take 8 months ish i think to make a modular stadium with only 7500 seats. i guess the red flag was that nothing was being built over the summer.

They probably knew they were going to delay it when they made those announcements, would be my take.
