and that form didn’t do anything for us. Even before matas mistake we were not playing good at all.
If anything this time there is nothing to lose because we really don’t deserve to be in this spot based on our three games .
maxi? I don’t even think he is 100% back from his injury. I was already iffy him playing last game to not force him into another one.
I remember thinking that we were going to win in extra time moments before the Mata incident... yeah we looked lost for a good chunk of the game but I thought the team pulled it together at some point in the second half.
Damn, I did not expect to reliving the 88th minute over and over again today.

As they say in Spanish “el futbol da revanchas” translated literally to “soccer gives remaches” but should more along the lines of “soccer always gives you a chance for revenge”.
it works here because once again we face same team in asimilar one game playoff setting while it’s not for an MLS cup there is still is something to play for. It’s not an identical scenario but it’s a start I know mata will be thinking of that saying lol.
And with that I can officially say with confidence we suck less than Red Bulls and Atlanta.
Looky looky. MLS finally released a bracket version. They also swapped around a couple brackets, but whatever, works better for us.
I believe NYCFC has never beaten Savarese’s Timbers. It’s like we have the boogeyman bracket.
If this was 2019 NYCFC and it was the regular season, yeah, they’d kill it. But it’s a knockout tournament, so all bets are off.
The way we're playing I don't like our chances against either an upsurging Cincinnati side or the Timbers.
I'm assuming K Kjbert meant our most expensive signing (Mitrita) and not our highest paid player (Maxi)???
Do you think that's reflected in his play on the field? I don't think so.
I see this as someone who thought this whole tournament was a bad idea for him and his family and he's publicly said that, but he would still go and play. I think for him, as well as likely for many others who haven't been as vocal about it, he probably feels as though he would be letting the club, and his teammates down by not going and playing.
I also haven't seen anything in his actual performance so far that suggests he's holding anything back or doesn't care about the results. His play and demeanor seems quite consistent with what we see from him on a usual basis.
If you don’t blame him then why say “Would be nice if our highest paid player gave a shit Sunday night”
Athletic released an article a couple hours ago saying MLS is trying to restart in home venues Aug. 22.
Home venues. If we aren’t going to be there as supporters why rent out Yankee Stadium? It’s going to be tough enough with the MLB games being shifted around. If no one is there would it not be easier to rent Icahn or a College pitch?
