Play at rba. No issue with that.

but don’t understand why they wouldn’t use the training site. Remember they told us it was world class

Broadcast infrastructure isn't there, and would probably cost a lot to install broadcast infrastructure. Not to mention all the other ancillary things you need. Presumably they will want to use a stadium that is already wired for TV, which is why RBA seems the most likely option.

For all the venues that weren't sufficient for CCL, I have a hard time believing any would meet the standards for MLS. That said, playing Michie Stadium would be a natural alternative, IMO.

F these guys. On a call with premium holders, Soriano essentially guaranteed an announcement by the end of 2020. This will literally be the 4th year in a row someone in the front office told me "off the record" that the stadium would be announced by year-end.

City Planning has essentially been closed for half a year. I want to see stadium progress as much as anyone, but any end of year deadline is now a June 2021 deadline.

Nothing to be concerned about. As the above states, DCP was closed and will resume next month. South Bronx development is at the front of the line.

What could have been...but still serving the community.

:(

i just read a story about how they want to use economic recovery to move the redevelop a new port authority....

A stadium would be nice too... especially if it's almost entirely privately funded and creates jobs. win win for everyone.

but hey.. probably asking too much from cuomo and debozo at this point.

I want to clarify for anyone that doesn’t click on the tweet thread and doesn’t see my further tweet that states this, I don’t think this is massive news, though this is a small step forward.

Is there any way to get the objectives they supported without the stadium though?

Technically? Yes.

Realistically? No. Repurposing the GAL location would be key to all of that and I don't see another development that would fork over the cash to relocate GAL and purchase that spot.

Is that because the big players in the decision are the EDC and City Hall? Also the Bronx Borough president and local councilman (or woman)? Any other parties? But I guess this at least assures us that CB4 will not oppose the project once/if it is pre-approved and gets to the public hearings phase? Although so many things could happen between now and then, especially with the unprecedented economic crisis, that a year from now CB4 could be massively against despite this vote? But I guess also the cash crunch, massive recession, loss of biz, etc. that the city is suffering and will suffer for the foreseeable future gives City group a better chance to jump through hurdles fast by throwing cash around, if they were so inclined?

I'm sorry it's all questions. My understanding of the process is iffy.
