considering all the matches we played there already this year (or at least in the area) should give us more of a home field edge than RBA afforded us.
The results we've gotten there would say otherwise lol

Not really news but here's the official roster. Jasson and Sands are both listed. Could Sands be available in December? Seems a bit rushed to me considering he doesn't seem to even be training yet...

Potentially. Zelalem is listed here as well and he's been out for a while. I would have just listed everyone on the team including Heber.

It's preliminary rosters and they were allowed to list up to 35 players it looks like. Since we don't have 35 players under pro contracts, we didn't have to leave anyone off.

Atlanta also listed Josef, and I think he is surely out?

even if Josef returned... Pretty sure we can count on Atlanta being OUT lol.

Scally, Haak, Gray, Jasson. I want to see them all starting.

So we no longer care about this game? It no longer matters to anyone now that we're not winning MLS Cup? We cared so deeply about getting into this tournament, now you don't want to take it seriously?

It sucks we lost, and I'm sure it will be brutal for the players to get excited for, but this is some crazy stuff right here. We've been begging this team to play CCL. Now that we're in, a few things don't go our way and we no longer care?

Who says playing these guys wouldn't be potentially the best 11 we could put onto the field?

Scally for Tinnerholm (unlikely)
Haak for Ring (unlikely)
Gray for Chanot/Callens (unlikely)
Jasson for GMS (please)

Anton Tinnerholm is the best right back in MLS. Alex Ring is a top central midfielder. Chanot and Callens have anchored the back line for 3 or 4 years now. And we've never seen Jasson play outside of a preseason friendly.

I will say it. Playing those guys would not be the best 11 we could put onto the field.

"Play to whistle" as they say.

Season's not over, gang.

I've said it before, but the ship has long since sailed in terms of getting minutes for Joe Scally. The only team that benefits from him playing at this point is Munchengladbach. Thank you, next.

I also question the wisdom of whether a 90 minute shellacking from a very good Tigres side is a great learning experience for these kids.

It's not like we're down 3-0 in the tie. We're down 1-0 and playing neutral-site. Does anyone really think this team can't win 2-1? If they do, they move on since it's technically a road game and they're still counting the away goals tiebreaker because reasons. This team can't win a trophy, so we're going to give up a chance to change that narrative before 2021 starts? Ridiculous.

i think the pessimism stems, not from the fact that we lost our playoff game, but in HOW we lost - a mental breakdown with lack of desire or hunger. If we played our hearts out and still lost, I can accept that. The better team won that day. But the way we lost leaves a bad taste and shows our lack of mental fortitude in big games.

I want to win vs Tigres and I know we CAN win. But I'm not sure we have the mental strength to make it happen, even at a neutral site. Scoring 2 goals when we have struggled to score even 1 much of the season vs a struggling, but still talented Tigres side... it's gonna take some cajones.

If im RD or anyone in management, I sit the A team down and offer them the option to play in the tournament or to rest up and skip it. You find out who has the heart of a champion and who needs to be replaced on the first team.

1) This team can beat Tigres, Olimpia and LAFC on a neutral ground and be the first MLS CCL champion ever. Its 2020. Can we think of a crazier more unlikely way to finish this weird-ass year. Sounds perfect.

2) With a 1-0 win we would go to a shootout against Tigres and no way would we lose the shootout, right?

Yes. I’ve written this game off.
And yes. Don’t play Joe. He’s not our kid anymore.
Play Gray. And Cacha. And Haak.

Lick your wounds and go out and win the damn thing. Exorcise the playoff demons.
Then win MLS 2021.
