National Hockey League

I like hockey. Keep doin that hockey, Sharks.
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Pavelski redirection for the first goal got me going!!

Only negative I saw from the game was EK65 looked terrible in defense for the 2nd game in a row. Two bad penalties and probably should've been called for a 3rd. Blues should be a good series.

EK65 has been tallying some assists, but has a complete liability on defense. Probably our worst defenseman in the post season. Poor decision making, bad giveaways and bad penalties. Hopefully he can get it going against St Louis.

Stuck at work so I could't watch but The Rangers dropped game 1 to the Canes with Hank in net. Sheshterkin was deemed unfit to play for some reason not sure (not having seen the game) if he could have been the difference.

And Isles up 2-0 in the 2nd. Great sports day!!

The Rangers may have unceremoniously been dumped out of the play offs but they got a big win last night. Won the draft lottery and the number one pick which were surely be used on supposed can't miss super star prospect Alexis Lafreniere .

Rangers will be rebuilding for some time just like the Knicks, unlike the Yankees rebuild which lasted a single offseason.

Lafrieniere is the real deal. But the Rangers as an organization (apart from goalies) are pretty bad at cultivating/fostering young talent.

The Rangers run the team like producers on broadway. They grab up old superstars to draw casual fans and don't build for the future.

*Come see Patti Lupone in Hello Dolly!*
or
*Come see Phil Esposito/Wayne Gretzky/Jaromir Jagr/Marian Gaborik/Mark Messier/Brad Richards for the New York Rangers!*

can someone explain to me this "conspiracy theory" that the draft was "fixed" to give number one to the rangers. im reading alot of Ewing draft lottery comparisons with the knicks.

I feel like they've gotten away from the aging superstar thing a bit now? They def were doing that when they brought in Gretsky . Bure etc. But I feel like they built up a pretty organically solid team around Lundquist when they lost in the cup final to the Kings (and my damn home town boy Jonathan Quick) They may not be the Yankees but I think it's unfair to compare them to the Knicks either. Dolan doesn't pretend to know hockey and therefore leaves most of the decision making to responsible adults on the hockey side.

They've moved away from that slightly, sure.

Winning always puts butts in seats, but I think the Rangers as an organization have put making money and being profitable over putting a winning team on the ice.

Looks like we could be in for an equal parts exciting and frustrating season. Blew a 2 goal lead and lost on shootout to the Pens tonight. Equally frustrating the shootout was shifted over to MSG plus in lieu of the Knicks Pre-game. I know basketball is bigger but come on!

When will we see the best hockey players on the planet in one tournament again?
