2021 Roster Discussion

Oof, this feels like the article that's always written a day before the deal goes through. Selling club leaks to major outlet that they will say no, buying club feels pressure and meets seller's demands, deal announced next day.

its all up in the air now. some palmeiras fans are already giving up/ annoyed at all this saga. There also seems to be a revival of a rumor that diego costa is a target again for them.

EDIT: Some Brazilian outlets saying NYCFC now has declined to sell. though not sure if Palmeiras is giving up.

It’s obvious that we entertained the offer. And if the money being thrown around for wages is real, I don’t blame Taty for entertaining the offer.
But we also didn’t have a plan to replace him all while entertaining the offer.

this is just me going off tweets and trying to read between the lines. It seems everything was in fact set but the delay in palmeiras finding the cash to make first payment may have turned off nycfc FO. Palmeiras fans do seem to mention alot that the FO sucks and doesnt know how to negotiate as they apparently have missed out on a lot of potential signings for this upcoming season. Others mention that them being broke is an excuse.

Any update with Thiago and his visa?

he was not in training videos so it's unlikely he got his visa yet. this should be confirmed either way on tomorrow's injury report.

not sure how other teams are getting their visas through so quickly. malte was what.. 6 weeks? if same holds true for thiago, he won't be playing any minutes until late may.

Re: Thiago/Malte
So is this like David Brent like management or just a run of bad luck?

He would not even get here until June 7 if he takes as long as Amundsen.
So if Andrade takes as long to show up as Amundsen did, he’ll get here on June 7.

He won’t take that long, because the Andrade thing was ridiculous.
Nineteen days later, I am not as confident about my "won't take that long" prediction.
