I happen to agree that having Bradley and Altidore in Toronto is not the best thing for MLS. With television, we can watch them whenever we want...but it's not the same as having them headline a revival in Chicago for instance. Or helping to launch the franchise in Orlando. Or reinvigorating a star-less DC squad.

Just think, from a marketing perspective, there are better places these guys could be. TFC is a backwater to me as an MLS fan. An afterthought.

I really wanted to see Jozy go to DC with that new stadium coming they need a star.

Why? TFC wanted him and spent the money. No one else was willing. Sounds legit to me.

And is it the big of a deal where he plays?

that's not what i'm getting at.

it's absurd that the players who arguably would be the most marketable for MLS essentially need to enter a draft to come to the league.

i'm fine w/ TFC spending the money. but their spot in the allocation order precluded clubs below them from getting involved.

I think you issue is more with single entity/ MLS trying to prevent bidding within the league. With the current structure, its a fair way to disperse the players. Having said that, the single entity is absurd.

Would like that, but other clubs have already contacted PSG about him, particularly Juventus and Inter Milan. I don't think he will leave PSG as he is a favorite of Blanc, but if he does I'm willing to bet he is heading back to Inter.

Motta just announced yesterday that he's not leaving PSG this window. Probably why NYCFC released that the had "contacted" about him. Deal's gone so they might as well look proactive.

My question though is should we take this as a sign that we're definitely looking for a defensive mid for DP3?

Hopefully that's what it means. DMs are so important and if can land a good one it could be huge.

DDR said he was only leaving Roma if they won the Scudetto this season

for me, a fair way to distribute players in a professional sports league is much closer to a free market than this allocation system allows. i'm generally in favor of a salary cap. but having a salary cap in addition to all the little league 'fairness' rules MLS hides behinds if anything does more harm than good under the guise of 'fairness'.

i totally understand MLS feeling a very strong need to maintain parity. it makes sense and they should create rules for that purpose, but they're also restricting growth.
