Supporter sanctions?

the police got involved, interrogated him and let him go without punishment, but was thrown out of yankee stadium
This seems to suggest that the police interrogation and release should prevent action by YS security. But YS is private property. They can refuse service for lower threshold burden of proof than the police need.

nope, I heard it was a conspiracy to frame Los Templados devised by that new supporters group, Goat's Town Blues United. I hear Goats is going to be targeting supporters group one by one so they can be the only supporters group in town.

This can't be real, can it?

It sucks that an allegedly innocent witness/participant (?!?) received the ban hammer, but I wish the fighting would stop, at home, at away games, on social media. It's ridiculous and embarrassing. To make matters worse, you see people discussing it openly and often on FB, bragging, reporting, promoting, trolling other teams supporters, etc. The internet is kind of like a public thing. I am sure that the team and front office have access to the internet. Grow the fuck up and enjoy watching soccer.

The only thing being let go by police says is they did not break NYC criminal law. Nothing about breaking YS policy.

At some point this needs to stop being the case. It seems supporters (insert group name here) keep getting themselves in trouble either at home games or away games, and every damn time its "Well you don't know the whole side of the story", "The cops/securitas are being ridiculous", "Opposing fans started it".

Enough. I don't know how often crap like this happens at other clubs, but it seems nonstop for ours. We as supporters need to have fun within our bounds and rules of the stadiums/venues we visit.

I love to get drunk and yell (what I think is) clever and witty banter. But never, ever will violence or personal attacks be part of it.

And I do get that sometimes there is something to hearing the other side of the story, or security overstepping their bounds, but it seems like that is always the case for our supporters and it needs to stop being an excuse.

And sometimes security/cops get the wrong guy. Others need to step up and take responsibility for their own actions.

End rant.
That^ is what isn't happening, so unfortunately one guy takes the fall for the stupidity of others. Now that they know what the ban will be, they're letting him out to dry but trying to make it seem like they did nothing wrong.

Apparently another walk out is in the works. I propose that less fighting is the better solution.
I don't believe the people involved are third rail members but I'll ask roxfontaine anyways, given the situation last year with a walkout including taking of the drums, how will that affect the noise in the supporters section? Will they take the drums with them as well or do those have to stay in the section?

I'm assuming this is not an actual SG. HOWEVER! If one where to create said group (ex the united part as that would never fly under the while under CFG ownership) it would instantaneously jump to the top of any supporters groups I would consider joining.

My current list of choices as of today include: (none). So it really wouldn't be a tough decision for me.

Forum trolls making fun of plastic "ultras".... Priceless....

No room for violence inside the stadium, hope the full story comes out to see if the ban stands...

Very well said, sir.

Just going off of r/mls this is a league wide thing, which is beyond dumb. It seems like every two or three weeks there's some new outrage because some group gets sanctions or some guy gets banned and 90% its a legitimate reason. I mean there's an Independent Supporter's Council that's put out this open letter or whatever you'd call it. Personally, I think it's stupid people try to antagonize their front office groups, most supporters sections are in pretty good seats for a lot less than they would be otherwise, and if MLS ever gets big I'd have to imagine a lot of the owners would be looking for ways to get more money out of those seats than what the supporters sections could give.

This is certainly not unique to nycfc, mls or soccer in general. Dumb stuff happens at almost any big time event. The NFL is like the Wild West sometimes, I've seen plenty of "action" at Yankees games. The grim reality is some humans cannot control themselves or think that violence is fun. Being a soccer fan doesn't infect you with this, it is something about you as a person. Alas, the whole "supporter group" culture combined with the history of the sport around the world makes soccer an easier target. Ultimately these are isolated incidents, you don't have 15,000 people getting escorted out of a game.

Also, as FootyLovin FootyLovin and Taurus Taurus pointed out, breaking staidum policy is not the same as breaking the law. When people equate that it reminds me of someone getting punished at work for saying something bad and then claiming "freedom of speech." That's not how it works.

Yup. Read the fine print on your ticket sometime - it is a license to attend the games that is freely revocable by the club and you have no property rights in it whatever. This is a general principle of sporting events/concerts/etc. too, not just a Yankee Stadium rule.

(It was nice to learn something in Property Law that wasn't another day of "Here's another trick that rich people use to hold on to their estates...")

The speculation on reddit is that Los templados went over to the away section to steal a banner or something which resulted in a fight in the bathroom by the away section. Guy that was banned may not have been involved with the fight but was part of the group that came over to antagonize the fire fans. If true, I don't really have a lot of sympathy for this guy.

If true, a whole lot more should be banned.
