2019 Season Ticket Thread

Sorry for the late response but tax season is kicking my ass so i havent been on the forums the past few days.

Pretty funny, but as someone stated my avatar is a picture of a young Maxi Moralez. I doubt ill see much of anyone in the parking lot today as ill be getting there hopefully right in time for kickoff and have to leave immediately after the game ends. Once again, tax season is kicking my ass.

ETA: ill keep an eye out for little Gator just in case
I ended up following Fred Mertz’s advice and tried 161st again, and getting in and out was a breeze. One reason was that we were running really late due to construction traffic on the I-87. Will keep an eye out in the future when I am back in Ali’s lot.

Ended up sitting with mgarbowski mgarbowski for the second half - which was the one bright spot on the day. Good to make the connection.

That and the good weather were the only positives on the day. Good to meet you and GG Junior as well.

I have a ticket I want to send to a friend. I do not want to transfer it via Ticketmaster. I have an iPhone and I know I can share from my wallet if he has an iPhone. If he has Android, is there a way to share the pass? Is it as simple as taking a screen shot and letting him use that? I think the answer is yes.

Should be as easy as that, though I've never tried it.

Should be.....but has anything the club done digitally not end up 8x more complicated, error prone, and straight up lazy? I know we are talking about TM, but we've seen how the StubHub deal worked out.

You know how technically you're not supposed to share certain tickets right? Like, I have the student pass and i'm "not allowed to share the ticket" but really at the end of the day it's as simple as screenshotting it and sending the screenshot to someone, and they're in. Could even technically sell the ticket that easily, as long as the person you're selling it to is confident in you not selling to someone else too lol

Well I feel like screenshotting and sending isn't a club thing, but moreso just a technology thing. I see no reason why screenshotting a QR code and texting it to someone shouldn't work. But I also wouldn't be surprised if ticketmaster and others have built in some form of security to make this more difficult to do.

Got the following info from this site. LINK

How to share cards from Wallet:
1. Launch the Wallet app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the card you'd like to share.
3. Tap on the info button in the right corner of the pass.
4. Launch the Wallet app, tap on the card you'd like to share, and then tap on the info button in the bottom right corner.
5. Tap on the Share Pass button.
6. Tap on the method you'd like to use to share the pass. These include email, message, AirDrop, and any other third party apps or extensions that support Wallet.

Step 6 looks like the biggest one, you could just text/email it to him if he has an Android? I don't have an iphone or any idevice, so not sure if this is actually helpful or not.

Also found a 3rd party app for Android devices that may be able to read/use Passbook passes on an android device. LINK

I'm somewhat curious about this as well, being that many of my friends are part of the iphone family and I'm a Pixel2 guy.

Thanks. I researched it too, and was surprised I could not find anything to address it directly. Everything is like what you posted here. They tell you how to share, which I do all the time, for example, with my family, but we all have iPhones. And none of the articles say whether this only works with other iPhones, or if it is platform agnostic.

That's why the MTA uses "moving" bar codes on their ticketing apps. The images don't actually get scanned, but they are animated so a conductor would know immediately if it's a dupe.

I’ve shared a bunch. If someone has android share with WhatsApp. Works like a charm

An update to my ticket sharing question which has become something of an odyssey:
  1. This morning I accessed my account via the NYCFC app. I navigated to the ticket in question and tap the icon to add it to Apple Wallet. The little grey spiral spun and spun for 2 minutes to no effect.
  2. I completely closed the app attempting to reset. Start over. Same thing happened.
  3. I open the Yankee Stadium app. I navigated to the ticket in question and tap the icon to add it to Apple Wallet. The little grey spiral spun for about 3 seconds to no effect. It didn't hang but would not add the ticket to my Wallet.
  4. I open my STH account on Safari on my phone. Finally this successfully transfers the ticket to Apple Wallet.
  5. In Apple Wallet I flip the ticket card over to access the Sharing function and it's not there. Other cards have it, so this is not something Apple took away. Either NYCFC or Ticketmaster disabled it.
