The East is absolutely stacked.
Its the first time I can recall in any sport where everyone in the conference appears to be actual playoff contenders.
There's not a dud amongst them.
Chicago is second in the East! Chicago!
And Philadelphia has won like 4 in a row.
This week has been the battle of the Conferences. I believe 7 inter-conference games.
The East smashed the West yesterday with Chicago crushing Seattle, NER crushing RSL, Toronto defeating Minnesota and Orlando drawing SKC.
Up today is New Jersey vs. LA, Portland vs Atlanta and, of course...
It would seem more likely to me that he does come to MLS now as being available that late into a European season, at that age, coming off of that injury, will likely be too risky for any European club.
So will LAFC get Chicharito and Ibra both?
It's actually worse than that if you add the second division Cosmos.
PV also owns other dubious records like the NY Red Wedding (7-0) last season and the biggest loss margin in Playoff history (also 7 goals against TFC)
An enigmatic existence PV has at NYCFC. Very high and low.
It'll probably be low scoring and hard fought as usual.
Statistics say NYCFC has to be due for a win but I think Orlando carries a chip on their shoulder when they play NYCFC similar to how NYRB do.
That said:
2-2 draw
Looking at the East standings, I think every team will stay in contention this season except Philly.
I don't see any teams running away with the East this season. It's far too competitive. I think the difference between 1st and 10th will be jaw-droppingly thin. It will be almost as...
Orlando v Atlanta would be a fun playoff match-up. Hope we see it.
I think playoff picture will be:
1. New York
2. Atlanta
3. Columbus
4. Toronto
5. Orlando
6. Chicago or New Jersey or Montreal
It will be the first season in a long time where I feel every team belongs in the post-season.
The...
Look at the standings.
MLS is the most curious of leagues
1. Columbus
2. Atlanta
3. Chicago (!)
4. New England
5. New York
6. New Jersey
7. DC
8. Toronto
9. Orlando
10. Montreal
11. Philadelphia
Still early days but I think some of these teams will continue on like this.
