    Brilliant to hear.

Oh, and as I mentioned on Twitter: Tim Cahill's own goal tonight won't go down well with the Metrostars fans. He even tweeted a blue heart

    MNUFC Postmatch

We are some team. Strong in most departments. It's all coming together and we are flourishing and showing dazzling style. Johansen, White and RJ are still waiting for the ground to swallow them up. All will be fearing the future after their monumental errors of judgement. 2:51 am, maybe I'm in...

Yes!!!! Finally beat them on their turf. I'm away, in Stuttgart, so only saw the 4 minutes of highlights. Looks like we had all the best chances and won comfortably. Many Ghosts have been exorcised. On we march.

Well deserved win. David Villa's influence on this team is irreplaceable. His work rate is so high. For much of today, nothing was coming off for him, but then..... bang!

    Jersey Postmatch

Only awoke in time to see the last 30 mins. Gift wrapped a goal for the Metro Stars. Who were the 2 commentators? Sounded inept. Like they'd been on the Wine all night.

    Union Postmatch

What a brilliant night. Was well worth staying up for. After 30 mins, we completely controlled everything. Ring was fabulous. An athlete, a pest and the architect of many great killer through balls. I'd write about the Villa wonder goal, but it defies description. I've not seen any long ranger...

    NYCFC Academy - General Discussion

Anyone seen young Reyna play ? I've often wondered if having a famous sporting father is a blessing or a curse. On one hand they get privileges and more opportunities, but on another they are under the microscope, constantly being compared and under suspicion of nepotism

    Montreal Postmatch

I'm still bristling from the smash and grab. We should've held out. Montreal will feel like it's Christmas. Their sole ambition was to play for a point. Mission accomplised, but their steal was a minimum effort heist. Early days, but we could've really put down a marker to say: nyc are a huge...

Books. For the literati among us.

You're probably also aware of these already, but Wilson's other volumes are also excellent - particulary 'The Outsider' about Goalkeepers. Also a fictional / book that I always go back to is : The Damned United - by David Peace. - an account of Brian Clough's ill fated spell at Leeds.

Harrison will be fine, Viera looked to be trying to hide a shiver after each goal. Whiskey and boiled lemons all round :p I watched the game with a prominent grin throughout. It's a joy watching us, and we'll only get better.

The others were copied clones of Man City, so I was always underwhelmed. At last some originality in our shirt. For that, I'm thankful.

Just got round to messaging. I watched a recording of the game, yesterday, and the ending left me more traumatised than the end of 'Love Story.' :(

Hope it was a good en! :) On the game itself, I was crushed, but now Ive shrugged my shoulders and thought, "Eyes on the bigger prize"

Just when things are going nicely, we come crashing back down. Bring your boots next weekend and you'll get a game (with all our suspensions).

    Montreal Postmatch

Agreed. I think we were very astute and mixed it up pretty well. Playing to our strengths. Is it me, or did Pirlo seem more mobile and athletic. Villa was an example to all. His movement and timing of his runs were stunning.

    Kwadwo Poku [Midfielder]

I now feel better, thanks to your explanation :) Our loss, but Poku gains. Will miss his rampaging thrills.
