Even assuming he becomes a regular starter for them next season, I’m just not sure why his development is better served spending the next six months sitting on the bench for Rangers, when he could have been starting every week for us and helping us win the CCL.
Unused substitute today against Motherwell, the sixth SPL game in a row where he hasn’t seen the field.
Since joining Rangers he’s played around 263 minutes total. More than a third of that came against Annan Athletic, from the Scottish fourth tier.
Is it too soon to talk about a loan recall...
Exactly - the loan spell is already a dubious move (there’s very little guarantee that Rangers will play meaningful minutes of European football over the next 18 months). But if he doesn’t even get on the field, it’s a total waste of time.
I don’t think there’s much to be learned from him playing against a team from the Scottish fourth tier. They’re barely USL level. Call me if he plays against Dortmund this week.
Twellman’s tone is so weird there - “What a great time to be a Revs supporter”? Yes, it’s good for the league’s reputation etc etc, but are MLS fans supposed to be throwing victory parades every time their best players are sold off to warm some European team’s bench now?
Who are these hypothetical young players who spurn NYCFC because we didn’t hold out for a better deal for James Sands in June 2022 instead of January 2022? Is it worth us potentially turning down millions of dollars to secure their hypothetical futures?
This idea that it will ALWAYS be a good...
Happy for James and it shows other younger players the path etc etc, but this move is pretty close to a worst-case scenario for us.
Losing a player on such a favorable contract in MLS is only worth it if it frees up allocation spots, or generates allocation money. This deal appears to do...

Ronny wistfully reminiscing about how well we played during a goalless draw with Nashville tells you everything you need to know about this team right now.
The team needs a fresh...
He should try this literally every possession he has. Straight from the kick-off, inside our own area, I don’t care. My season ticket money paid for this kid and I want my damn rainbow flicks.
Sounds like he was playing hardball rather than being wishy-washy. Can’t be much fun for the players, but I’d rather we have someone who knows when it’s time to be difficult with our highest paid players, than someone who rolls over for fan favorites.
It’s not the individual stats I’m interested in, it’s the idea he could be used at right back! (A position where we don’t have any recognised cover)
It may turn out to be complete BS (they can often get things wrong) but the Football Manager games have an army of amateur scouts compiling the...
