Very strong numbers for a week in which Seattle, Orlando and NYCFC were all on the road. Great for the league.
 
There were some empty seats at Vancouver but maybe some fans were watching from the concourse. No way was there anywhere near 20,000 at Houston.

Yeah much like this weeks games, some have announced crowds higher than actual attendance
 
Tickets sold rather than butts on seats, except in Toronto apparently where some attendances have been less than the announced number of season ticket holders.
Police in England monitor the number of people who enter the ground and come up with much lower numbers than the club announces. I don't think there's a legal ticket exchange in England.

Im not 100% confident my tallies are accurate but its been a very huge season for MLS.

edit : I was out by 3 games so i took the last total attendance and divided it by the 340 games which gives a lower overall average.

  • MLS averaged 21,574 fans per game this season, good for a total attendance of 7,335,053
  • The average attendance at an MLS regular season game increased 12.7 percent, moving from 19,147 in 2014 to 21,574 this season.
  • An all-time high of 10 clubs averaged more than 20,000 fans per game
  • The highest average attendance came from the Seattle Sounders at 44,247, which breaks the club's previous league record of 44,038 set in 2013.
  • The Sounders average attendance ranks second in the Western Hemisphere, and just overtook English Premier League club Liverpool in the global rankings.
  • There were a record 161 sellouts across the league this year, 28 more than the previous mark of 133 set in 2014.
