2017 Forum H2H League & Pigeon Cup

If we did 3 divisions: High priced, Entry Priced and Free. What would you like to pay?

  • $100 - high priced

  • $75 - high priced

  • $50 - high priced

  • $25 - entry priced

  • $20 - entry priced

  • Free - lower division

Results are only viewable after voting.
I say we bump up the $$ a little (within reason and consensus) to keep it even more interesting. Though I am fine with the status quo if folks prefer.

I'm also fine with whatever. We chose that amount last year by vote and not to scare too many people off. We also have the option, if we go the 2 division format of making the upper division a higher buy in and the lower division a lesser buy in. $50-$20, $40-$15, whatever way people feel comfortable structuring it. In fact, that's the last I'll say on this subject, I have a treasurer now who's really good at this stuff! mgarbowski mgarbowski the floor is yours.

I'm fine with an increase myself. Would like to invite anyone who does not want an increase, or can only afford a modest increase, to chime in. I don't think anyone wants to squeeze anyone out. Specifics would help, so if you can't feel comfortable going over a certain amount, say what it is. If you want to message me privately feel free.

I favor this idea. Convenient way to separate divisions to start. Results from last year will be a secondary factor if pay-in preference doesn't split evenly. In addition, the lower division champ will win enough to reinvest directly into the higher division upon promotion.

P.S. I'm getting rocked in Premier League Fantasy... Have highest score among all 20 teams but sitting in 5th place!!

I didn't even consider the re-investing for next year aspect. Then it gets really interesting, I'm liking it!

I'm starting to think pro-rel fantasy could become a new thing in any sport. It solves the dilemma of the teams that tank at the end when they are out of it. And allows new players to join a league that's been around for years without it getting too large.

I'm happy at the current level (or a negligible adjustment to $25). Would consider bailing if it goes above $50.

At least until MLS sells the rights to yahoo so we can get a usable interface.

Would you mind playing in the lower division at the current price?

As for Yahoo, that would be great, but I just want a damn app! Is that too much to ask???

You can pry my imaginary status from my cold, dead hands.

(No, I don't care.)

I probably wouldn't go above $50 for it. And I am ok with being in either division, whatever makes the most sense.

So you'd do $50?

Reminds me of the old joke:

They are telling this of Lord Beaverbrook and a visiting Yankee actress. In a game of hypothetical questions, Beaverbrook asked the lady: ‘Would you live with a stranger if he paid you one million pounds?’ She said she would. ‘And if he paid you five pounds?’ The irate lady fumed: ‘Five pounds. What do you think I am?’ Beaverbrook replied: ‘We’ve already established that. Now we are trying to determine the degree.

Added a poll to see what you all want to pay and set the divisions up accordingly.

I always heard that anecdote as being Churchill to a woman at a party regarding a slightly different arrangement. And the kicker was "now we're negotiating a price." Had no idea it had another variation.

Oh, and I'm in for either. I prefer the top division, I guess. I'll see if I actually stick this out. I've always gotten sick of fantasy well before the end in the past.

I thought it was Groucho Marx. Then I googled it and found out it stated with that guy's mention in a newspaper. Got to quote the original or I'd get panned on this forum.

I've heard Churchill the most often, but also GB Shaw, Bertrand Russell, Groucho and WC Fields. Never heard of Beaverbrook in this or any context, but that doesn't mean it didn't really start with him. I gave up long ago thinking it was a real thing and was likely a nice small piece of fiction.

Count me in. I'll elect for the entry level $25 division.

I also echo the need for user friendly app. Would make everything so much more convenient and enjoyable.
