Open thread to discuss STH relocations for next season and coordinate anyone who wants to sit together. Section pro/cons appreciated!

I'm considering moving out of the bleachers next year and would be prioritizing shade so I can more easily bring my son, plus figuring out how many price categories I'm willing to go up.

Are there any forum-heavy sections?

I'm currently in row 10 in 233B, thinking I will either try to move up to the first couple of rows or move back 3 or 4 rows to get into the shade. Also might try 234 if there are good openings, But I'm pretty happy where I am.

I'm moving my tickets to the GA - it's always a great time in there.

Can also highly recommend the view from section 213 - right behind the goal, in the middle, at a great height.

I am in 232B, Row 2. I like it there - in the corner. Being close to the pitch is a priority for me, and the corners and ends are better for that than midfield. I also like being able to hear the supporters section.

That said, the section itself is a little low on atmosphere, so I would be open to a move to another section, provided I can get somewhere in the first 2-3 rows.

I'm almost certainly going to move from 232B Row 1.
Great seats for re-sale, but not so great for sitting! Foul-pole, corner and all that.

Not sure where i'm going to move to, can't wait to look!

234 has great atmosphere, very lively, but the language can be rough at times. If you want to stay out of sun and dry when it rains then go for rows 15 and up. Not sure I'd recommend those rows if you're looking for the "family" experience. We tend to stand for the match in that section as well. Excellent view of the pitch too

I had wanted to get into that section since day 1 but it was blacked out during the initial selection process and I did not see any seats there this season. I'll be trying again this season because that is right where I have wanted to be all along!

Yeah, the foul pole is one of those personal choices. I don't mind it very much, but I can see it really bothering someone.

Which seats do you have in that section? I am in 3-5, Row 2. Won't be there for LA, but will for DC.

I can hear you guys from my section - definitely some good atmosphere there.

I am considering a big move over to Section 205 - assuming good seats are available. I've sat in 207 a few times, and the atmosphere over in and near the Coop is great.

Row 1 seats 12-13 aisle. It's not bad and the pole only obstructs the right corner of the field from my seats, but i'll be moving on most likely.

I love the company in the Batters Eye, but I don't much care for the section overall. In fact I just sent my rep an email over the weekend indicating I plan to relocate and explaining why I think they need to raise the value of what you get with those seats or lower the price. The Eye is usually at least half-empty so I'm surprised to see they are keeping them in the same tier, although obviously my email was too late to have any effect.
I haven't discussed this with my seat neighbors as it's a very recent decision, but based on prior comments I expect some of them might be planning on moving as well. Have not decided where to move and will possibly be a relocation day decision.

Here is a cut and paste from the email. This omits the opening and closing part where I emphasize I'm not angry or looking for an accommodation, but just trying to give helpful feedback. Even with that I think, on re-reading it just now, that this comes off as more angry and negative than I intended just as a function of listing a half-dozen negative issues. I might email him again to reassure that I really am not angry, just disappointed with the seats and planning to move. With that extended disclaimer:
  • They are priced at a premium. I say this understanding they are not premium seats per se, but they are the most expensive non-club seats, There are only 5 other sections at this price level and the others are all field level.
  • Yet the view is basically the same as the first few rows of 227-230, which are priced much lower.
  • I knew going in these seats had no protection for sun or rain. But they are in fact hideous sun seats for afternoon games, and we have a lot of those because of the Yankees. The sun is straight ahead in your face all game.
  • They are impossible to sell, mostly because nobody knows where the hell the Batter's Eye is (including some stadium staff BTW) or can understand why they cost so much.
  • Stadium maps make this worse as they make it seem like the BE is level with (or even higher than) the top of the Upper Deck.
  • The official ticket exchange cannot even show BE tickets on their map at all. That is ridiculously unprofessional and inexcusable for the official provider. I can't believe they haven't figured this out yet.
  • As I learned at the Colorado game, the drainage in the front row is poor and my seats had a puddle an inch deep. It wasn't even that bad of a rain to cause that much pooling. Fortunately there was almost nobody there so I could sit in the second row, where the water was able to "drain" down to the first row.
  • No cup holders in the front row. Mind boggling. My daughter and I have each lost at least one drink so far this year when people knocked them over on the floor. At best it is disappointing and at worst a disgusting mess. See no drainage above. It is also simply inconvenient to keep reaching down.
  • Can only buy one beer at a time due to proximity of bleachers. This actually has not affected me, but it could someday and definitely annoys my friends. A husband and wife, for example, who both want a beer and both have to go stand in line.
Bottom line is they are not worth the cost. Maybe could be Tier 3 at most I think. Definitely not Tier 1.

One option crossed off the list.

I'm staying in 112 row 17 on the aisle, Good price , covered from the sun and usually get a nice breeze there. Nice group of fans there too :D

I'm sticking with mine. 224 row 19. Good seats. A little far away but very close to the center line, totally protected from the elements, right across from the coop so you can hear the chicken bucket chants clear as anything. Stop by anytime to get a look at the view!

We have a good number of forum members in 103. A couple seats there seem to open up from time to time. But you're in the sun and exposed to elements. Great view though.

mmm I am losing a couple people from my group because of divorce/babies and that basically looks like the same view i have in 214A but on the other side of the goal.
