2018 MLS Offseason Thread

Other notables if I'm reading this page correctly https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/11/24/contract-deadline-day-2017-stay-date-all-moves-around-mls

Available from Atlanta: Tyrone Mears
Available from Orlando: Giles Barnes, Victor Carrasco, Seb Hines, Nocerino, Powers, Saunders (ducks)
Available from Philly: Roland Alberg, Charlie Davies, Maurice Edu, Fabian Herbers, Ilsinho, Onyewu, Tribbett, Wijnaldum

I find a few of the above from Philly to be surprising.

Also, it appears Greg Garza is going back to Tijuana

FC Dallas: https://www.fcdallas.com/post/2017/...s-six-players-declines-options-10-2018-season

The 2018 contracts options for Carlos Cermeño, Eduardo “Pollo” Cortes, Hernan Grana, Cariaco Gonzalez, Aaron Guillen, Atiba Harris, Walker Hume and Javier Morales were not exercised. Harris also qualifies for MLS free agency.

The options for Coy Craft and Maynor Figueroa also were not exercised. However, FC Dallas continues to work with Craft and Figueroa on new deals for the 2018 season.

**Fun Fact. Coy Craft was dating Gracie Hunt, the daughter of the owner of FC Dallas (and the Kansas City Chiefs). Don't know if they are together anymore based on recent Instagrams. But hey, it's a talking point of his option being declined.**

Sad to see Zizzo on the list, as I was looking forward to seeing him in their backline for years to come. Grella has to be a surprise.

LA not fucking around.

No moves yet posted for Chicago or DCU (along with TFC, Crew, Sounders, Dynamo but their deadline is later).

Chicago Fire: https://www.chicago-fire.com/post/2...-club-exercises-contract-options-11-players/?

The club declined contract options on seven players: Joey Calistri, Matej Dekovic, Patrick Doody, Collin Fernandez, John Goossens, Michael Harrington and Richard Sanchez.

Harrington is eligible for MLS Free Agency, while Doody and Sanchez are eligible to participate in the MLS Re-Entry Draft. Calistri, Dekovic, Fernandez and Goossens are eligible for the MLS Waiver Draft.

Nine players are guaranteed for next season, including David Accam, Jorge Corrales, Michael de Leeuw, Christian Dean, Johan Kappelhof, Matt Lampson, Djordje Mihailovic, Nemanja Nikolic and Luis Solignac.

Lampson triggered a performance clause of games played during the 2017 season, guaranteeing him for next year.

The Fire declined to purchase the option on the loan for Juninho, while Joao Meira and Bastian Schweinsteiger are out of contract.

The club is continuing negotiations with Sanchez and Schweinsteiger.
