2018 MLS Offseason Thread

this is Kreis career do or die year...he got rid of players and got new ones he wanted ....part of me knows he will mess this up ....but i rather he do it in orlando to stop hearing all the crap about us when we let him go...that it was a mistake
Fair, but who really cares. I can barely hear all the haters from all the way up here near the top of the standings anyway. And we are so stacked it's muffling their whining.

All evidence points to Kries being a miserable coach to play for that has lost every locker room he's coached except the one filled with players that knew him as a teammate and then a coach. He lost it last year, players that like their coach and don't want to see him fired don't loose the last game of the season to Philadelphia 7-1. He knows he can't hold a locker room and he's paranoid about it. But instead of changing his behavior he works every year to stack his squad with players he thinks will be loyal to him. Used to be rsl guys now I guess he's just betting that MLS vets will give him a pass because of his MLS rep.

Long story short, I agree he will mess this year up too and likey be done.

LAFC will air their regional games on Youtube.

Surely it willbe geographically restricted?

While YouTube TV is a national subscription service, LAFC matches will be geo-fenced and only available in the Los Angeles market on YouTube TV. Pregame and postgame coverage and additional non-match LAFC programming will be available to all YouTube TV subscribers nationwide.

From their FAQ:
YouTube TV is a TV streaming service that lets you watch live TV from major broadcast and popular cable networks. Enjoy local and national live sports, and must-see shows the moment they air. Record all your favorites without storage space limits, and stream wherever you go. Share with up to 5 other roommates or family members in your household.

and
You can record as many programs as you want at the same time, without ever running out of storage space. We’ll even keep each recording for 9 months. Stream from your library anywhere in the U.S.

They say they even let you fast forward through commercials on programs you've recorded.
I dallied with Sling before switching to YouTube TV. I'm pretty happy. Of course I miss Ray Hudson and Phil, but the other cable cutting services don't seem to understand UX yet.

I'm not 100% sure what time shifting means, but I can record anything and stream it later from unlimited storage in the cloud, fast forward and cast.

What version of Sling did you have? I currently have Blue* but was also interested to see how YoutTubeTV was, as I think I'll be minimizing my Alexa usage as I enjoy Google Home better. I do enjoy SlingTV a lot, very simple and has all the channels I need for live TV (NBCSN, FS1, FS2), aside from ESPN.
Mainly just wondering why you felt/wanted to change, and what you think is better about YoutTubeTV vs. Sling?

Web UX was horrible. Did not support DVR from the cloud and did not support local storage.

Device (Android / Pixel) support was bad. Could store recordings locally but was not able to fast forward, so when the app would crash in the middle of watching, I would have to start again and watch all the way through to where I had been when it crashed. Which I didn't because at that point I downloaded YTTV lol, regardless of lack of BeIN availability, and bid a private and tearful farewell to Messi and Ray Hudson.

IIRC I was not able to cast recordings without casting my entire screen.

Def worth trying YTTV with the free trial. To me, it felt like going from Windows for Workgroups to Mac OS X. Which is the nerdiest, most inadvertently elderly, yet appropriate analogy I could think of.
