That little patch of barely viable blue was his attempt to defend vela on his second goal..... wtf was he doing back there anyway. I mean I know when you get frustrated you play deeper to get involved but thats just nuts; he was in callens positioning there. Other then that one odd moment he doesn't spend anytime in our half, lol.

Cant really blame him for attempting to compensate for Mata ignoring Vela, Mitrita seems like a focused, if not sometimes selfish, baller and I bet seeing an opponent run on to a through ball unmarked pissed him off.

Also, LiveScore had us playing a 4141 with mitrita as the Left Mid, so maybe he was supposed to hang a bit farther back to start his runs earlier which allowed him to be in position to see, and react to, the Mata gaffe???

Geez, when the club’s paid shill has to have a contact at the selling club for information, it’s hit a new level of information blackout.
he didn't exactly say it was a source at the croatian club, he just said club source in Croatia..... it could be even worse then you imagine. I'm picturing it went down more like a guy sitting in a bathroom stall at the local strip club just dropin' the kids off when two executives from riejka walk in intoxicated blabbing their mouths about the transfer going through. Naturally the guy is just sitting there browsing the web on his mobile and decided to hit up glenn crooks in a DM and boom, there ya have it, strip club source in croatia breaking the news! Oh and lampards there too peepin around the corner, at least that's how i imagine it went down.

Need a FIFA Rating for this guy ASAP. He was last in the game in 2013 as a 20 year old with a 67/76 rating.

Get rid of Tati, make these 2 the wings, ISI up front, and move maxi back. Thoughts?
Isi strikes me as being a guy who likes the ball with the play in front of him. i.e. not somebody who is looking to play on the shoulder of the last defender. Héber could be the same way, I don't know, but it didn't look that way from his YT comp.

I just don't see the Isi who is going to give us the kind of direct, penetrating runs that we need. From what I've seen on YT from Héber, he looks like he might be more like that guy, despite what the heatmaps say.

i agree in all the videos i saw about herber he tended to come in from the left but make central runs. (same as villa, kind of). He may have been playing winger but i dont think he was playing it in the traditional sense. Again, im basing all of this off a few 6 minute highlight videos that i watched.

Right. The question to ask is not why was Mitrita back there, but why wasn't Matarrita? or Callens? or Sands? (he had just taken a shot) It was just Chanot and Mitrita anchoring the back line. Mitri obviously saw 3 of our 4 defenders and our DM press forward and wisely stayed back. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to make up for Chanot's blunder.

The reason why Mata wasn’t back there is a broken record.

Am I alone in thinking we should look to move Maxi?

He's a DP, he's older, he's never gonna get any better, he's always been 'he's good but could be real good' on every club he's played, might have some value in a move, looks lost, jack of all trades master at none, looks less motivated, etc.

I like Maxi and this isn't a bash.

he looks lost because Dome has him playing out of position IMO. I am certainly not in the move him camp until he drops back where he belong and is still playing like shit.

I want Ring playing higher. Like Nainggolan plays with Inter.

Maxi is still one of the best 10s in the league. We just need him to actually play that position. I saw a stat where Maxi is the 3rd fastest player in MLS (history? current? I can't remember) to tally 25 assists.

ETA: I think if CFG were smart, that hole he leaves behind will be a huge opportunity to bring in a big name. Hopefully, with a stadium announcement (wishful thinking) before the start of next season, on top of a new DP #10 (if Maxi is gone after this year), 2020 could be extra important.
