Kind of getting discussed in some of the game day threads but probably belongs here. At 100% healthy, what is our starting XI at this point?

Mitri - Heber - Taty
Maxi - Ring - Parks
Callens - Sands - Chanot - Tinny
Johnson

Bench: Isi, GMS, Medina, Ofori, Mata, Ibi, Stuver

I think that gets our best 11 on the field.

Notable omissions from the 18: Sweat, Rocha

Could also make an argument for Sweat over Ibi or Mata.
It's definitely a very interesting quandary. I'm not sure I agree with how you've laid things out, but it definitely makes a ton of sense how you have it as all of those players have shown they deserve to be out there. (I also realize I say I'm not sure I agree, yet I'm really not sure myself what would be my first choice XI)

I do think with Heber and Taty out there together, it'll look more like a 4-2-2-2 with Maxi and Mitri as the CAMs (Mitri starting a bit wider left and Maxi being more central.

What's great is again how much tactical flexibility that is out there with the XI you put out there, and then the depth on the bench.

For your formation, I don't think Dome would drop Mata in favor of Callens at LB, although I wouldn't mind seeing how Callens may function as a LB in a 4-3-3. It gets our best 11 players on the field, but it may compromise the formation having a CB out wide. I also feel a 3-5-2 may work a little better in terms of everyone performing at max capacity/ in their most comfortable position, as below;

Mitri - Heber
Mata - Maxi - Ring - Parks (Ofori) - Tinny
Callens - Sands - Chanot
Johnson

SUBS: Isi, Taty, Ofori (Parks), Medina (GMS), Ibi, Sweat, Stuver

For my 3-5-2, It sucks to drop Taty off the bench but I feel he may be an incredible super sub along with Isi off the bench in case we need an offensive kick later in the game. I don't like when we do a 3-4-3 because it compromises our midfield in that it's only Maxi and Ring there (Mata and Tinny provide width in any 3-ATB). 3-5-2 (or 5-3-2 depending on possession) provides more midfield support, gives width, solidifies defense with 3 CBs, and Heber and Mitri (seems to be rounding into form) up top are lethal.

To be honest, I think it all depends on whether or not Sands is trusted to be fit and ready for playoffs. Without him (Sands), a 4-3-3 Is my preferred setup to get max capacity out of our remaining best. Move Callens over to CB and Mata at LB when using the rest of FootyLovin FootyLovin's formation.

Bench: Taty, Isi, Scrooge, Rocha, Makem Sweat, Ibby, Stoove

I think this is basically agreeing with Schwallacus. I think our 3-4-3 with Maxi at winger ends up operating a lot like a 3-5-2 because Maxi tracks back so much.

Important to note as well that this can also turn into a 4-3-3 pretty quickly with Sands stepping into midfield and either Ringleader or Keaton stepping up into attacking midfield.

Also worth saying that against teams where we want to be putting out a more attacking option, we can pull Maxi back into midfield for Keaton and put Isi or Taty on the wing.

I want them to try Isi as an attack-minded LM in a 3-4-3.

F | Mitrita, Heber, Taty
M | Tajouri-Shradi, Moralez, Ring, Tinnerholm
D | Callens, Sands, Chanot

So if you start Mitrita-Taty-Heber as your front 3, that is basically 3 10 goal scorers in your front 3. Is there another front 3 in the league with that much balance?

NYCFC's group has 14 10 9.
The LAFC trio has 28 18 8
Seattle has Ruidiaz, Morris, Lodeiro with 11 9 7.
Portland Fernandez, Ebobisse and Valeri 11 9 8 (Lodeiro and Valeri aren't front line but still).

Philly is interesting. Przybylko Fabian Ilsinho are at just 14 6 and 5, But the Union have 4 players with 4 and could end up with 4 to 7 players with 5 goals or more, which is a different sort of scoring depth. LAFC has 4 with 5 or more and could add 2 more. We have 4 and could add 2 more in Ring and Shradi.

I checked a few other possibilities -- Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, Minnesota and they had more concentrated scoring.

yea i didn't include seattle and portland cause loderio and valeri aren't really forwards.

It's a little hard to tell from the labeling, but this is offside called against a team's opponents? Pretty amazing difference between NYC and the rest of the league. It's been a year of living dangerously... and succeeding.

oops. yea, if so, then i read the table incorrectly. i interpreted it as the number of offsides called against the team, not earned by the team against opposition.

EDIT: ah makes more sense if i actually read the title :)

Taty called to Argentina U23s, games 9 & 14 October

that'll keep him match fit for the playoffs! hope he impresses and gets a callup to the senior squad someday.
