2019 Schedule Thread

So lemme get this straight, the game will be at Citi Field UNLESS the Yanks lose series v. Houston 4-0 or 4-1?

Yes.

Also, here's something crazy. Wednesday, October 23rd could potentially be:

Yankees vs. Washington Nationals - World Series Game 2 - Yankee Stadium - FOX
NYCFC vs. D.C. United - MLS ECS - Citi Field - FS1

That would be cool.

It wouldn't have happened concurrently but I was kind of hoping it would be the Yanks vs. LA Dodgers and NYCFC vs. LAFC!

Correct. Means we might no know until October 17. We could find out earlier if
  1. the Yankees win 2 games (as early as Oct 13), or
  2. the Yankees lose in 4 games (Oct 16).
If 1 happens the game is definitely at Citi Field regardless of who wins the baseball series.
If 2 happens the game is at Yankee Stadium.

this must be why we got that email that at the earliest we can buy extra playoff tickets is Monday and that it will be one day.

That's right. So this Sunday (10/13) -- if the Yankees win the first two games against the Astros -- is the earliest we could know the location of the match. Thursday (10/17) -- potential Game 5 of the ALCS -- is the latest, if the Yankees are down 3-1 going in.

I imagine that's why the date for releasing tickets to the general public isn't set yet. Season ticket holders may put up with getting locked into the forced migration from YS to Citi, but that's a nonstarter for civilians.

Edit: Knew that I should have waited for mgarbowski mgarbowski to reply. My thumbs are just way too slow.

FiveThirtyEight's postseason game probabilities with known starters...

Game 4 and 5 in New York, the Yankees are the favorites without known pitchers. Game 6 and 7 in Houston, the Astros are the favorites without known pitchers.

Welp, just submitted the opt out form. Sucks to have to miss playoff games in their best season. This is when it would be nice to have a stadium.

Anyone know thew travel time to Citi from Grand Central on the 7? It's already going to be packed from rush hour -- worse than the 4 -- I'm just trying to figure out the absolute latest I can be on the train next Wednesday.

i depends if you catch the express or local 7. Look for the purple diamond instead of the purple circle. You can Google it for accuracy, but best I can remember about 25 minutes.

I do not know how accurate this is, but the Trip Planner on mta.info says this:

Note: They only provide results for the 7 local, so I assume the ETA for express would be at least 10 minutes faster.
