2019 Season Ticket Thread

I’m at work and didn’t get a chance to read through but it looks like everyone got the email. It’s been 2 years for me.4120E24A-D7C6-49AE-B594-4C7C4EC82F6B.png

This whole ex-founding members can get back in at founding rates is complete BS. I'm not a founding member but have had tickets for 3 years. Someone who bailed after year 1 shouldn't be able to come back 5 years later and get the same perks.

And yes, Brad Sims, sucks. What has he actually done since he joined the front office in January?

The entire Front Office is out of touch on this one. Fck them. If former STH get to jump back in at Founders prices, then the club should award the original Founders that have stuck around loyally a 25% discount off those prices - there has to be a tangible benefit to those few that have propped up the base.

Why do you care? If it means more people in the stadium, I'm glad they're getting old founding members back on board.

I don't care about the pricing -- they're having trouble selling tickets and this is just another name for a price cut. Hopefully any who takes this offer loses their original place in line for, you know, seats at the new stadium.

The optics are once again horrible for an organization that consistently executes PR moves seen as gaffes.

whoa whoa whoa, fuck off!!

Not you, but the club. They are allowing people back WITH founding member status. No go fuck right off. I have been buying into the Season ticket package to hold my status for when i am ready to come back (Read: in 10 years with a kid gritting my teeth saying im doing it for the kid).

I've been weighing the cost of losing money on resale vs taking a 5 year break, but they are just going to let people back in after they abandoned the club (again no offense to you). What the fuck. I am so annoyed. What is the point of keeping the membership status if they are going to cheapen it like this.

I get that it's a limited time offer to renew, and who knows how long it would be available, but they are basically saying nothing is sacred to them. People who stuck it out are suckers. god fucking help me if they get their old place in line for the future stadium if that is ever going to happen. /rant

I guess when you're drowning, you don't worry about the optics of how you stay afloat.
Unless the optics of kicking the proverbial can down the road blows up (again) when those that jump back in thinking they’re Founding Members (again) learn that they aren’t and were misled to think that signing back up reinstates status, brick and seat selection, instead of only granting purchase price.

That’s gonna piss off a hell of a lot of people that decide to jump back in for the seat selection, thus buying tix they wouldn’t normally carry, which will garner more ill-will and additional bad optics.

Sometimes an org needs to think strategically to permanently cut off the water theyre drowning in rather than focusing on jamming their thumb in the dike.

I'm not a founding member but this whole promotion, as others have said, cheapens being a member.

If they want butts in seats they need to focus on the stadium. A new stadium alone will boost ticket sales. I'm pretty sure most of the dislike of going to a game is that it's in ys with poor angles and so so atmosphere (though it's not bad considering how big the stadium is, but would be so much better in a smaller stadium built to hold on the noise).

Even after becoming a member, it's been one thing after another that shows they don't value a season ticket holder any more than any Joe schmo off the street. Yes we get some perks but they just don't seem special enough to me. It makes me question whether I will renew every year. I dream of the day when there's a waiting list to be a member .. but if the club continues down this path, I'm not sure that day will ever come.

The screen shot above says "Founding Member preferred price" and nothing about status. I don't know if anyone clicked through and has more info.

I’ve heard through the grapevine it’s only the pricing. But still! What other tangible benefits besides place in line to FMs get? And Btw, ALL, I repeat ALL season ticket holders technically have a place in line for the new stadium. FMs are 1st bc they were earlier. But how many STHs are even left that it matters at this point? And all STHs get the same exact package to start the season (besides a different pin & scarf names in certain years) and get invited to the same functions and get the same citizen points. Might as well eliminate the terms FMs when now prices are all the same too. And are “regular” STHs now getting FM pricing too? If I was one I’d threaten to drop my tickets if I didn’t. That’s for sure.

It’s ambiguous at best referring to people as former Founding Members and rejoining the club. There was enough confusion that it blew up the twitter sphere.

Status is not being returned and that’s gonna blow some lids to those expecting it with the Founding Member term being thrown around.

I swear some of you think the team's entire ticketing strategy should be focused around endless flattery of the Founding Members, along with a daily telegram to reassure you that you'll still get a brick before anyone else. I don't think the season ticket package is anything to write home about, but jesus, where does this level of insecurity even come from? Temporary price cuts being offered to a select group of old FMs does next to nothing to damage your own ticket. It might even improve the atmosphere!

How many are actually going to jump on this offer? If they left in the first place, very few will come back I'd think.

I remember back in my Revs days, they had an AMAZING offer of FREE PARKING for the whole season with season tickets. Enthusiasm was high, that was $15x14 games I think at the time. It was a great deal. People who were giving up their seats renewed because of it. Some old timers came back, others who attended half the games got season tickets because they figured the parking savings were so good even if they didn't attend all the games.

Then came like February or March. The Revs announced that parking will now be free at all Revs games! Everyone who thought they were getting this amazing deal were furious. The club went through the season ticket drive strongly implying that only season ticket holders were getting this great deal only to reveal that it wasn't a special deal at all.

I'm wondering if we're doing something similar here. Renewals are way down, are all members suddenly going to get Founding member pricing, with across the board reductions to better meet demand all of a sudden after they hook a few former holders back with a dubious deal?
