2019 Season Ticket Thread

So did anyone else get email saying their rep changed?
Yeah, I did. So now this will be like the fourth person assigned to me that I won’t ever talk to (still don’t know what I would ever use them for)

I'm clearly irritated at this point, but other than the ability to work as a free street team for the club (handing out tickets to people), is there a single change year over year? Brad said they've found more ways to "add value". Value is benefit/cost, so in order for value to go up, benefit has to go up more than the cost.

flexible ticketing seems to be one of the changes... not sure of the details though. or if that's just another way to say trade in program.

How does flexible ticketing help STHs in anyway? We're still paying the same amount over the season. If anything it makes it harder to trade out of bad matches and into good ones, because we have to pay a premium to do so.

well i don't know what they mean by flexible ticketing. they listed it as a benefit, but what it actually entails is anyone's guess. if it allows you to go to more games than not, does that give more value to you? value is subjective, as everyone's situation is different. I don't have a problem going to wednesday games, but a lot of people do. perhaps the flexible ticketing will be a benefit for them in that regard.

personally, i would want different benefits to add more value to my membership. For me, that would include more exclusive freebies and deeper discounts on the overpriced food and merch. but those are things I doubt the club will ever do...

Ding ding ding.....

Flexible pricing only helps the club and one-off purchasers that want to take in a cheap match.

It's a bit of an extra hassle, but before this system you could have sold your tickets for any match you didn't want to go to and then purchased extra tickets to the match you did. And before the Stub Hub deal, it was much easier and profitable to do so. I don't really see how this benefited me. Especially now that I've been told I can only trade into a match once.

Agree that we need some real exclusive freebees to have any tangible benefit. And I'm not talking a scarf and pin in a STH box once a year.

is there a description of what is meant by flexible ticketing? i didn't think there was one published yet. if so, please share.

we're assuming it means the variable pricing and trade-in program already in effect. Unless you want Season Cards that can stretch and bend...

lol.

especially when the scarf is a crappy summer scarf. I like the flag/banner they gave this year, but it's not exactly high quality either. I would like them to go back to full knit scarves, a selection of hats we can choose from, a complimentary clear poncho for rain games, and a plush blanket. I think those would be very much appreciated by any member.

Oh i see. I just realized the 2020 membership page states "Ticket Flexibility - Our Ticket Trade-In Program allows you to swap tickets from matches you can’t attend for additional tickets to future matches". So you guys are correct.

I just did a survey about the Blue Card. Did everyone realize that each card gives the recipient tickets to multiple games, not just one? Setting the marginal price for the marginal buyer at zero!

Also, they think we're going to carry them around with us (presumably in the chest pocket of our shirts) and possibly hand them out to strangers.

Got the survey. Ripped it for devaluing the STH. It’s a bandaid by Simms to save his job for a year with smoke and mirrors propping up unpaid attendance.

I also got the survey and commented that the market was basically being flooded with free tickets that will hurt resale.

Also I’m still confused if the seats are guaranteed next to the person who gave them to you. Like maybe I want to go with a friend or somebody from work, but can’t sit with them?

They’re not guaranteed next to you.

They won't even necessarily be in the same section. "Hey friend, why don't you come to an NYCFC game on me? No, actually, you will not be sitting with me.

Can someone more creative than I come up with something fun we can do by pooling our cards together?
