Can we drop the stigma of “free” after paying for stuff. It’s included in your season ticket package that you paid for, you’re still paying for something, like Vallos stated it’s more of a reward or added incentive. Nothing in this world is free.
It’d also be a standup gesture if the club had a tiered rewards program, acknowledge the STH’s with better options to choose from based on tix tenure.

Rather than the Ford coupon, give a gift card from something more soccer related from a local sponsor - doesn’t have to be an NYCFC gift card. Like $10 at upper 90, or discounts near the stadium in the bronx, or something. $500 off a new car is tone deaf considering a) this is NY and a large population doesn’t even have and/or want a car and b) isn’t connected to the local community at all. Any team can give $500 for a Ford.

is there anyone really that is like “hmm I want a new car, but am not sure...WHAT? $500 towards a Ford? Heck with that Nissan!”
It’s NYC where apartment moving is a constant for many people - that $500 from the moving/storage company NYCFC has a deal with would be way more appropriate.

Really makes you wonder if the FO understands their audience.

LOL Yeah, with Dumbo. Why didn't they just give the coupon towards that? Or even better.... public transportation?

I'm not even mad. Just disappointed. I've said in the past that I don't care much for swag and I'd rather not receive gift at all than a shitty one. IMO this year the gifts are solid. I won't use them because I'm very particular about apparel and accessories, but they're relatively smart.

To me, it's more the feel. In the past the box came in a box and was rather well designed. I've kept all of them. This time it's a beat up mailer with QR codes all over it. The stuff inside rattles around because there's nothing to keep it in a presentation that feels well thought out or meaningful. One of the most prominent items is a promo for a mediocre American car company that makes little sense for most of your fanbase and thusly demonstrates a lack of connection. The member card appears meaningless because no one cared to attach it to its lanyard.

Something that is supposed to be a symbol of gratitude is treated as an obligation. Nobody involved in the production of this spectacle appears to have experienced the joy of anticipation that this package would ideally evoke.

But it's also just a small part of the overall picture and there are plenty of other very positive signs, so ... Ehh
If you were tasked with obtaining hats for your customers and told to spend as little as possible for them without it being embarrassing, these are the hats you would get.
If you were tasked with getting a synthetic no-fold wallet for your customers, I would have serious concerns for the person who assigns your tasks!

I have no complaints about Cityzens this year — based on the current offering, I’ll be getting just as many things this year as I did last.

It's mobile ticketing only, and note that I did not have a good time getting it to work on my iPhone. The Ticketmaster app would not accept my NYCFC ticketing password and I couldn't get the NYCFC app to work with it either. I had to go to nycfc.com in Safari on my iPhone, tap the link to My Accountmanager, which took me to a different web page, and then finally log in with the same credentials that did not work in either app. Then you have to tap each match in the dashboard, then tap each ticket, one at a time, and then separately add each one into your Apple Wallet. So if you have two seats for each of 17 matches you're manually adding those 34 tickets into your Apple Wallet one at a time.

I mean, sure, it worked, but it was definitely a pain in the ass. Also, would've been nice to just be able to use the Ticketmaster app.
*shakes head sadly*
Also they have disabled sharing passes from your wallet. So you are forced to either show up together and you scan in for everyone or let Ticketmaster (and presumably NYCFC) know who is going with you. unless the claim that screenshots no longer work is false).

if they will be working like they did for the CCL game at RBA, there is a moving graphic over the barcode that is supposed to prevent screenshots from working. The more pain in the ass about mobile ticketing is not just that you have to be with your entire group or transfer them via tickemaster, but even once you're inside, you'll have to take out your phone, pull up your ticket information just to get into your section. To have to do this, maybe, every time you get up to get a drink or hit the restroom is quite annoying comparing to just flashing your card. and as ulrich mentioned before, not having multiple cards for getting our discount at concessions is pretty inconvenient.

Also:
Seth Seth your ticketmaster app won't work with your NYCFC account password UNLESS you created a ticketmaster account using your NYCFC account password. To log into Ticketmaster and the app, you have to use your Ticketmaster account login, which is different and distinct from your NYCFC account login. You should have created a ticketmaster account in order to claim the tickets from the san carlos CCL game. Not sure if that's what you were doing, but thought i'd give a shout in case it was what kept you from logging in.

No moving graphic like an MTA or MBTA ticket, just a standard QR code.

I have separate Ticketmaster accounts, four of them. My "main" one is just my regular Ticketmaster account, the one I use to get all my Todd Rundgren tickets, and that works in the app just fine. I had to make a separate one for NYCFC though, to be used in the account manager. I also have a US Soccer Ticketmaster account I think I needed for Open Cup tickets or something and also a NYRB account (ugh) for Derby tickets one year maybe. The soccer ones are am.ticketmaster.com/clubNameHere and only work with their own credentials. They also don't seem to work in the Ticketmaster app. That's the issue. I can use the am.ticketmaster.com/x URLs in Safari just fine, but I can't use the app as it will only take my Todd Rundgren credentials and not the club ones.

Ok. I think I misunderstood what you were doing when I read it before. I believe I understand now. Yes, the am.ticketmaster.com/NYCFC is basically your account manager website and will take your NYCFC account specific credentials. As you said, tickets for our home games are a QR code.

I haven't tried but it might be possible to transfer tickets from your season ticket Ticketmaster account to your main Ticketmaster account, allowing you to use the Ticketmaster app. This would also require clicking on each ticket in the NYCFC account manager and selecting the transfer option, but could be an option to consolidate usage to the Ticketmaster app. Again, I haven't tried it as I just save mine to Google pay but you said it won't work with your Apple pay for some reason.

TBF, I think the Blue Cards give the season ticket package more value than we have received in years past. 8 additional tickets per seat is a sweet deal.

Weird thing is that it seems for this round of CCL they did away with the moving barcode on the Ticketmaster app. It’s a regular QR code now. The moving barcode was pretty cool because if you have an iPhone you could just tap to enter like you would with contactless payment.

Thanks for clarifying because when I downloaded my CCL ticket for this match, I was confused that it didn't look any different than other mobile tickets I've used (I was away during AD San Carlos CCL match)

I still don't even have my season ticket package yet

Fedex tried to deliver it, failed; I signed up for delivery instructions to tell them to just leave it; they failed to deliver it again; I stayed home from work to get the delivery; they came, rang the doorbell, I LET THEM IN, and they still didn't deliver it to me!!!! By the time I got downstairs there was no one there and my tracking info said no one was available!

So I told them to take it to the Duane Reade down the street and two days later they decided instead to ship it back to the sender.....

wow that's ridiculous. why didn't they just leave it once they were inside? you'd think being told to leave it was enough for them to do so without any liabilities on their part. just pathetic. sorry you had to go through that, but i've been there! I've literally waited on my building's stoop for a delivery once upon a time, cause i knew the UPS/FEDEX guy would not leave it.

that's a great question..... Fedex told me to contact NYCFC, who told me to contact Fedex..... Apparently it didn't even require a signature, so no one can tell me why, in three visits to my building (and with explicit instructions to leave it there) they failed to leave it there.
