Just asked my rep about missing out on my seats

He mentioned that the first 2 rows are off limits to fans because of MLS guidelines that state fans cannot be within 5 feet of the field of play. I wonder if it's true? Was anyone able to select front row in here?
I sit in section 014 behind the goals, and that entire section was blocked off. my appointment was at noon so maybe it was sold out, but I doubt it. I do think they are blocking seats close to the field. So I had to buy someone's else seat, which kinda sucks.

Well, this is annoying. I purchased my tickets this morning after I had asked my rep this EXACT question. Here is the email exchange we had on Monday of this week:

Hi Marcella,

I'm looking forward to (possibly) selecting my seats on Wednesday 4/7 for the home opener! Before I do... do you know what the entry requirements will be in terms of either testing or time since vaccination? (I will be getting my 2nd vaccine dose 13 days prior to game day and wasn't sure if there will be some timeframe requirement on "days since vaccination complete".)

Hey Steve,

Happy to hear you will be fully vaccinated soon. The vaccination card or any proof of vaccination that you receive should be good to enter the stadium (13 days prior is plenty).

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Great, thanks for the prompt reply. I’d seen that Yankees games require 2 weeks (14 days) and didn’t know if that was MLB/Yankees vs. MLS/NYCFC stuff or true for all events at that venue. I’d hate to be turned away for being 12 hours short of 2 weeks!

Hopefully it's one of those "the rule on paper is 14, but you got 13...ok" things.
Does anyone know if they are offering on-site antigen tests for a fee? I know I've seen other teams doing it, just can't remember who.

Damn, one day? You're getting the second dose this Sunday? I think it depends on which screener you get. Good luck.

Don't know about on-site rapid testing. I signed up for a rapid test in my neighborhood the morning of the match since I won't be 14 days past vaccination.

My appointment was at 11 AM and it went fairly well. The app showed my outstanding credit and debited from that total without issue.

One bit of advice that may help people seeking seats for a group larger than 2 - try different pod sizes if you cannot find seats in the section you want. We are attending with a group of 4, and I wanted to find seats in our regular section (233A since 2015). However, pod size 4 only allowed selections in the rear of the section. When I switched to pod size 2, I was able to purchase tickets for 2 pods in the front of the section that are near each other.

One hopes that the powers that be will not be adamant about separating our two pods on game day considering that the two pods will have traveled to the stadium together in the same car, but we shall see.

The Stadium has ziptied unusable seats, so you won't just be able to find four seats to sit in.

Don't know specifically about MLS, but this doesn't surprise me. It seems like every sporting event I've watched that has fans has had the first so many rows empty.

As a partial plan voucher holder, I went into the Ticket Exchange matrix this morning at 10am. It looks like I can only exchange vouchers for 2 or 4 tickets for the opener. When I select just 1 ticket or 3 tickets, it took me to the seat map, and highlighted the "available" sections, but when I zoom in no seat options were actually available. I understand why this would be the case, but I emailed my rep to ask if there never are any odd number pods or maybe there were some yesterday but the STHs took them all (which is totally fair if so).

Did any of you guys see 1 or 3 ticket pod options available yesterday? This is all fine but I'd like more info for planning purposes. There will be games where I can bring 2 or 4 people total including me later in the season so I can get my value. But I would like to know if going solo is completely out of the question.

To my extent of viewing, pods are only in increments of 2. I looked at 2, 4, and 6. 1, 3, and 5 showed up blank like you mention.

I didn't get tickets so not speaking from my own experience, but what I've seen on Twitter and other discussions with NYCFC friends it seems like they only sold it in even amounts (2-4-6), no single or triple options were available to anyone yesterday. Minimum ticket quantity option was 2 tickets.

My rep responded to me, saying that for the first game they were limited mostly to pods of 2, 4 and 6, with a very limited set of 3 person pods. They expect to be more flexible in the future, but obviously depends on all the factors one would expect.

I really only saw 2 person pods when I bought yesterday afternoon.

Lack of odd numbers is a problem but lack of larger pod sizes is a larger issue - at least for this guy with 4 kids.

I am sure it is something that’s very hard to get right. I wonder how much flexibility they have or if they have to stick with the seat arrangements the Yankees create.

"We have proven to be the most consistent squad in MLS – we have the most aggregate points in MLS over the last five years and, more recently, over just the past two seasons, LAFC is 1st with 104 points and we are 2nd with 103. We have both experienced players and exciting young talents, and the opportunity to further enhance the team which we will do in a smart and sustainable way."

Saying it again! We're great during the regular season but no trophies!

This club taught me to hate that word,
Especially in relation to points and standings. And here they are rubbing it in our faces.

Because COVID has made all City Hall events virtual and thus questions are pre-screened and selected, the biggest takeaway from a paltry added event tonight was that the 2022 kit is likely orange. Or not. Who knows.
I was the person who asked his two questions during the event. I was confused why they came back to me as I asssumed there would have been better questions than I asked. Either more relevant or team friendly questions.

I put 8 questions for Sims and Lee. All of my questions were hard. The only took questions that are easy to answer to be vague.

The best question for Sims are ones that are only answered "Yes" or "No".

The drinking game for Q&A events with Sims includes a shot when he says "Cleveland".
