2020 Roster Discussion

As the 1st and probably only member of the Scallywags, I'm happy for Joe. We've now had one player go to Dortmund for free and another to Monchengladbach for mucho bucks so this shows guys that if you join our academy and you have the talent and you work hard, you can go to Europe.
In a perfect world, he'd stay here and be vice Captain but being a selling club is part of our evolution in attracting youth talent.
Our Academy seems to be stacked with talent. This summer, my son and I were kicking the ball around in a park, when we randomly met a kid from the U12. He said he was already getting looks from Europe and spending some of the summer at one of Bayern's prospect camps. We played with him for a while - I was shocked how talented he was. We also learned a lot about his experiences playing for the Academy - he loves it. (Then to cap off the NYCFC trip to the park, we then bumped into Alex Ring whose daughter was playing with my younger son nearby in the playground.)

Here is the club announcement. Did anyone see this coming, now?

I kind of assumed his injury would have delayed anything like this until he played some club games again.
Euro clubs jump in head first after YWC because they pay less based on speculation than when a full resume is on the books. It’s also a “beat the rest” move to limit bidding competition.

Watch out for Global Warming Pirates!

The deal is signed now, so I would assume it comes in now. Borussia is just loaning him to us for the 2020 season, in effect.
Don’t ding ding..... the key word there is LOAN. This is going to be very interesting because as a HG, Scally had zero charge to the Salary Cap. As a Loan, we technically have to pay his salary that he earns. Now maybe since it’s not MCFC, the Loan Salary can be negotiated to a very manageable amount, but whatever it is will be more than what we had been paying. The flip side is we can put some GAM towards it to zero it out (which is kinda a waste of use) or more likely, Scally will take the place of somebody else on the Senior roster while the club signs another HG to be a freebie roster spot - so maybe/possibly a wash as long as his Loan amount isn’t exorbitant.

It would not be a loan until he is officially transferred to Borussia MG. He does not have a European visa because of his age which is the reason for the delay. My question then is does that mean he cannot be transferred in the FIFA registry? Can you transfer a player to a team when he cannot even apply for a visa to work for them? I don't know. If not then this won't be a loan.

Second possibility: the terms of the deal are official but the teams agreed to defer his transfer until he actually can go there even if they are allowed to do so. It's arguably beneficial to both. We keep him on the books as homegrown and BMG doesn't have to start paying him. Also, I expect the deal was written to include contingencies on the chance he cannot get the visa. That's got to be a standard provision even for immediate transfers.

And because of all this I'm guessing BMG doesn't pay more than a limited down payment to seal the deal until he actually moves.

Ring's daughter is already a club legend. As many trophies as her dad.

she probably intimidates the opposing players into submission. Someone needs to make that look she gave RB into a gif asap.
