2020 Schedule Thread

Here's the breakdown of the home games for 2020.

Saturday Day: 3
Saturday Evening: 3
Sunday Day: 5
Sunday Evening: 0
Weeknight: 6

I defined a "day" game as starting before 6pm. One of the Saturday day games and two of the Sunday day games will start at 5pm and carry into the evening.
How do the 8 day games compare to last season?

It doesn't seem like moving some games to citi field, lessen the amount of weeknight games to any great degree.

exactly. just like someone said, moving to citi for some games is a result of the yankees not accommodating an MLS schedule due to their own schedule concerns.

this is going to be a rough season for the team and supporters.

Interesting Road Trips
Sunday Philly Sprint - April 19, 4pm
LA-bor Day Weekend (LAFC) - Sunday, May 24 at 9pm
Sleepless in Seattle - Saturday, June 27 at 5pm
Battle at the Benz (Atlanta) - Saturday, August 1 at 3pm
Voyage de Semaine (Montreal) - Friday, Sep 11 at 7pm

It’s clear that the yankees don’t want nycfc fucking up their field, so theyre slowly pushing us out - hence the Citi series. I can’t blame them here... we need to get a new fucking stadium.

with this kind of schedule and travel - i worry for fatigue and injuries. if the new player agreement doesn't kick in to let us charter more flights, it's going to a be a huge issue.

MLS's website has the national TV games listed - only 8 games on national TV. The home Derby is on Unimas. Road game at Atlanta on ABC. Home game vs Galaxy on ESPN.

can one of you schedule-crunching people tell me if it would be feasibleto play the 4 citi games at Yankee stadium (as in the Yankees are not playing at home that day and there would be the requisite 72 hours to do the field switch).

Given that the citi series was marketed to us as “more weekend games” - but NYCFC still has 6 weeknight games - curious to see if this is pure 100% bullshit or maybe just a little bullshit.

also, it is the case that NYCFC has zero away weeknight games, correct???

this FO really does make it hard on us.

Personally I'm all about that Miami away trip on a Saturday in July.....spend all day on the beach and then the game at 8pm? Yes please.

I imagine that by 2024 this graphic will be color coded with so many different shades that it'll look more like a pride flag than a schedule.

(Also am I the only one who likes weekday games? I am? Oh man.)
I love weekday games, but we are in a minority.
Other sports, weekday games are fine, but for some reason no one likes when soccer is on a weekday...

Yeah this is bad. Of the 6 Wednesday home games, 3 of them are sandwiched between two away games on the weekends-- 4 if you count Citi as away-- and the 5th is sandwiched between a home and an away. Only one doesn't have games on both adjacent weekends-- but it has an away game 3 days later.

There's a bad run in end of June/early July where its @Seattle, then home 4 days later vs. Orlando, then @Chicago 4 days after that, then @San Jose 6 days laeter, then home 4 days after vs. Cincy, then down to @Miami 4 days after that. Sheesh.

I guess one silver lining is that both derbies have a week run-up.

also, lol at Chicago's new crest. Yikes.

I enjoy them as well. I don't think there is as strong a consensus against as you would think.
