2020 Schedule Thread

I went through this a couple of days ago. You have to get rid of the old one, then go to nycfc.com and subscribe to the new one
Except you can't subscribe without consenting to marketing emails from MLS, SUM, and their partners.

I’m gonna do it the old fashioned way of manual input. They already hit me with multiple emails, I’m sure they don’t check and instead simply double-up the distribution.

I think you are going to see NYCFC play many games at Redbull arena. We might not like it but we are going to have to accept it for this year.

Haha 2 weeks.... that’s laughable..... this isn’t going away that fast.
I'm assuming they are hoping to monitor players closely, make sure it doesn't spread through the clubhouses, and start playing behind closed doors ASAP. The TV networks will be desperate for MLB at this point, and probably tons of money on the line depending on contingency clauses in the contract. So for MLB, I'm guessing plan A IS to start playing two weeks in with no crowds, plan B, if players are getting sick, is simply to extend the break.

Truthfully, it doesn't really matter if you say 1 month or 4 months at this point, it can be extended if need be, but harder to say "oh wait it's not so bad everyone get back" if they can play sooner.

Disagree. Make a real statement of sustained length, so players can focus on families and not trying to stay sharp/in game shape, only to have it extended again and again. They should send players home and stop organized practice. Clubhouses are Petri Dishes with the close contact of play.

But what if they all wash their hands for 20 seconds after batting practice and avoid slapping each other's asses?

* not applicable to NYCFC (without substantial adjustments)

Though I'm not currently fond of our FO, I don't envy them this mess. There's no good answer and they're going to get massive complaints no matter how they handle it.
My guess: any match rescheduled for Yankee Stadium or Citi Field, regardless of where it was originally scheduled, will transfer over/not be refunded. If they have to go outside those two options, it gets a lot harder.

I agree. If they shift games to RBA as many of us suspect they must, there will be a revolt if they don’t offer some compensatory adjustment in return (and even if they do, but somewhat less).

You know what an upstanding gesture would be from oil-rich Owners.... suck it up, foot the bill, make full refunds, and announce that the club appreciates the support STH have shown and so in these difficult times with suspensions, cancelations, and different venues, the club would like to show their appreciation by covering the costs because fan support is what’s crucial and appreciated by the team.

These billionaire owners of sports leagues need to take a bit of humble pie and stop passing along the buck. Without fans, their franchises devalue as fast as the stock market. Good will by those that have the means is in short supply and they should make a statement with actions.
