2020 Schedule Thread

Hasn't NYCFC been approved to set up temporary structures at their training facility to produce matches and accommodate traveling teams?

Either way:

i dont think the training center was ever an option since its not big enough to follow all the social distancing protocols and why waste money to remodel to even accommodate TV production crew and cameras when using another stadium is probably easier. The ones rumored were RBA or Army Black Knights soccer stadium in west point

Unless the MLS is Back Tournament gave them a roadmap as to how they could accomplish this. It might actually be harder to socially distance at a stadium than it would be to do it at a training center where they can build out everything they need to build out. But does Red Bulls arena or West Point have the necessary facilities to allow teams to socially distance -- and West point isn't going to be wired for TV if they use the soccer field there, so there would be no difference in terms of the TV production in going to West Point than in going to the training center.

I don't think that's true. It certainly is (was?) an option as of a few weeks ago. Check out 14:35 of this meeting:

Looks like it was at least in pretty advanced discussions with the town and planning to move forward.

Executive summary: no fans, home games at Red Bull Arena.

space ( i am assuming as I don’t know he actual guidelines) they need space, the training facility probably just has one locker room area not two for teams to be in, also refs need their own room.

Also for transmission you need space for trucks satélite and then probably cranes for cameras, and what about VAR? I also don’t know if press will be allowed in.

so basically hey cramming everyone in that tiny area, that’s why I think another site should be used. Probably more locker rooms for players and refs, press room ? And other places to have cameras and trucks to set up so there is more space to spread around. At least it’s my take.

I didn’t watch this before so didn’t know. I personally would also be against it because they also got to train there so that field May not be in best shape after their trainings and having potentially 7/8 games there.

Get used to it, RBA is gonna be the San Siro of MLS.

I'm going to merge this threat with the 2020 schedule thread as since MLS is continuing a course of regular season matches, I don't think it merits a separate thread as there will be overlap in conversation.

I will of course watch and support our boys but I think this is a bad idea.

it was already an issue before the virus and there was no real true progress on getting a stadium deal.

if anything what has been happening is basically getting feet wet to the idea of having a stadium not even working on a deal to get a stadium built. But this should of been happening 6 years ago.
