Say there are 5,000 season ticket holder accounts in 2020. And they give 5 Blue Cards to everyone. That's 2 seats per card. 5,000*5*2 = 50,000 / 17 Home Games = 2,941 extra attendance per game. They're just doing this (aside from getting new fans potentially engaged) to artificially inflate attendance numbers.

If it adds even 100 new fans to the team next year, it's worth it. Our active fanbase, for whatever reason, is dwindling. Fans aren't coming out to the stadium to watch one of the best teams in the league. Their job is to increase the fanbase. This is an attempt at doing that. We all need to look at the bigger picture. The fanbase is not growing. The fanbase needs to grow. This is an attempt. We should all cheer that they've got some outside-the-box thinking.

I think I've settled on a significant downgrade in my seats, if I can find a section I'm willing to sit in. All the midweek home games after mid-July have been impossible for me to attend and nobody buys my seats on the secondary market even though they're in what I consider a great section and I price them quite low.

Can't get much more of a downgrade than SS ;) Join usss

My rep finally emailed me back late Friday saying he was away, but we should talk on the phone Monday. I replied I’d rather email about the 3 issues. 1. Unable to use my trade in $. (Ongoing since Portland Match!) 2. My credit from last season’s overcharge. 3. Confirm new 9.2% pricing hike is FM price.

After work hours yesterday I emailed again asking when to expect a response. Today I’ll start cc’ing people over his head. The best part of all of this: the title of the email is “NYCFC Serving You Better”. I can’t make this shit up.

I canceled my single supporter section ticket on Friday using the opt-out form. Yesterday I got a call from my service rep. It seemed the call was only about the new single point of contact and re-organizing the tickets/fan service department. Until i brought up that I had canceled next season. Then we spoke for about 30 minutes about my issues with the front office. I laid out each one of my points and he countered each of them. It began to get a little uncomfortable after a while, I really had to forcefully say that I am not interested anymore. He finally accepted that, and said in the next 48 hours I would be getting a phone call from upper management.

The specific issues I mentioned to him were lack of stadium progress, increase in ticket price, stub hub, the weak discount on in stadium purchases, ex-founding members getting their discount back if they sign up, small ticket packages released mid season that hurt the resale market.

I emailed my rep to say I wanted to "change my seats" for next season and said I couldn't find anything on the account manager site which looked like a seat availability map or a pricing structure, so could he please point me in the right direction.

It's kind of amazing the site doesn't have an obvious and easy way for STHs to select different seats.

Sadly I just don't really enjoy the perspective from the endlines.

Buy the cheaper seats. They don't actually check your st pass when you go up to a section so you can just wander in with it on, is what I've found lol. Yes, I'm "that guy" but if they're gonna charge ridiculous prices and no one comes anyway, what's the difference?

The response from my rep (Taylor White) was:
"You’re a little early! Seat Relocation takes place during the end of November and won’t be available to use until we get to that period of time!"

Wait, wut???? How exactly does one contractually obligate themselves to new seats/section months before getting to check what sections/seats are available. If one downgrades, but has been paying for more expensive tix for three months, seems a bit suspect.

They won't know what seats are available for switching until season ticket orders have been made. It's always been done that changing seats happens later.

If you end up downgrading, then your bill is adjusted accordingly.

Just went onto the site to see what they charge new season ticket holders (because my rep isn't letting me know). How the hell do they expect anyone to sign up for this??? They don't tell you the cost of anything, ask you to put down a $50+ deposit (minimum) per seat for the privilege of a rep contacting you to tell you what it costs? And this deposit isn't refundable? What is this a time-share scam??? I know mgarbowski mgarbowski mentioned the idea about if you have to ask, you can't afford it. But I've never seen anyone charge for the privilege of walking into the Gucci store (and that's if they also took down their online prices). I don't have an MBA, but how does this make any sense???

I saw that too, but there is also the other form I posted a screen shot of this morning, where you can just hand over your contact info without a deposit. So you don't have to give deposit to get info, bit it still is extremely weird that they give the option to lay down a deposit and even then you can't know how much it costs. I get why teams do that before they exist. NYCFC did it in 2013-15; Atlanta did it before 2017, etc. But asking for deposits for an ongoing enterprise, without revealing costs that have in fact been set, is kind of bizarre.

So I got a call about 5:15 this evening from Jordan something. He’s the director of ticketing. It was a very nice conversation, he did not try to get me to renew at all. He was only interested in what my grievances were. He came over with Brad Sims from Cleveland. I could only talk for about 15 minutes because I had to take my son to soccer practice, he did tell me a few interesting things though.

It was his idea to re-organize the ticket reps. Apparently management was very resistant to the idea but are coming around. There are 22 ticket reps now. Each with around 100 members. I don’t think that math really adds up though considering he also said there were some reps with over 1200 members each before this reorganization.

The club is in active negotiations with Legends to increase the season ticket holder discount on food and beverage. Obviously nothing is set in stone, but they are working on it.

He said very specifically that it is more important to them to keep current members than add new members.

Edit: it was Jordan Cannon, Senior Director-Ticket Sales. Also, on NYCFC.com it has all the names of people working in the front office, judging by job title there are between 22 and 24 people working as (essentially) ticket reps.

Confirms my theory that Sims is trying his best to do shit but the club is like "WTF are you thinking?! We didn't hire you for tha... oh wait we did, didn't we..."

My FM seats in 213 have gone up $2 a game each to 26
The seats I added in season 3 are the same price now

what the actual f?
I paid at the beginning of the season a package so that I get every ticket (https://www.nycfc.com/college-pass) using the college pass... but for some reason when I log onto my account now, I have no more tickets until the end of the season. It's like they just decided to stop giving me the tickets I payed for. wtf?

That seems like a questionable practice so hopefully just an IT issue with your account - probably easy to get straightened out as long as your rep isn't the same as adam adam ’s.

I technically don't have a rep bc I'm not a season ticket holder- just a 'college pass' holder (which is also just as stupid- why not just make the college pass holders STH's with a student discount? Would make marketing a LOT easier...) so I emailed fanServices instead. they reply pretty quickly, as I've found, especially on gameday lol

Hey Itai,

Thank you for reaching out.

I see the seat on your account right now. Typically, these seats are uploaded a few hours before the match starts. For example, the match on 8/8 looks like it was uploaded at 2:50PM on the 8th.

Let me know you have any questions:)

...I can't tell if I should be angry or not. Why the hell would they only put the tickets up at 2:50pm for a 7pm game? Anyone know a technical reason why this would be?
