I agree with some of your point of people loosing interest, I personally think that ther are several factors that afflicts the team! Not having a home, I guess in a way our beloved team is homeless,
Welcome to to the future of Homo.Sapiens

1 -Lack of a marquee player,
2 -New Yorkers are hard working people , family oriented, it’s very difficult for many to attend weekdays games,.
3 -Due to family commitment s, kids in school , mothers / fathers, get home to cook, parents and kids have to struggle with homework assignments, there is no time left to squeeze a sport game on weekdays

On a personal note aside ,however I have to state it
I detest Common Core. I feel for all parents that nightly have to struggle with that awful system of learning .I use to tutor kids, I don’t do it anymore
As a whole I see a world of darkness , illness , opium addiction , and of lot horrendous evils in the not so far future , I am very pessimistic for the future of Homo Sapiens .
Also baby boomers ruining facebook

Around renewal time I was one of the many people assigned to a new rep. The new guy has been good and engaging. I have not heard from my prior rep since then (which is fine) until today. She wrote to let me know she is leaving the club to join Austin FC and will be at the game to say goodbye. All of which is nice. But the rest of the email oddly is written as if she is still my rep, saying someone new will be in touch soon to take over. Except that happened a couple of months ago.
They're not the best at this email communication thing, are they?

boilerplate stuff she forgot to delete, i bet. probably reused her SENT email to you and forgot to delete the irrelevant portions. classic rep

NOt sure where to put this, so i'll put this here. Please move if incorrect. Just a feel good story I wanted to share.

So, around halftime, this group of about 6 people showed up and sat down next to me. They are clearly not soccer fans and knew nothing about soccer. One leaned over to ask me who we were playing. One cheered when Pity scored his PK despite being a new yorker and then said "that was the first time I saw a goal so I was excited". They then started asking me what our record was and follow questions when I gave them answers.

They made comments like "I come here all the time for Yankees games and this is a whole lot more fun and exciting". They were also eyeing up the supporter's section thinking it looked like a fun place to sit for the game. I overheard them talking amongst themselves and saying they might try and get season tickets for next year.

The atmosphere tonight was special. We had a good crowd, beautiful weather, we played well and won. It made me happy to hear that they enjoyed themselves and were even thinking to maybe get season tickets next year.

The city is full of people who would probably come to the games and support the team more if they just experienced the fun game like tonight. I think the blue cards, may help do that. Also, reading through the twitter feed - it's very, very clear that fans just aren't able to watch games and that's just bad. Whether it's cause it's unclear where the game is being shown or streamed, or whether it's too difficult for the casual fan to tune in. I hope things improve on this front in the future.

In case any of you were wondering, my rep more or less confirmed today that those of us who opted out shouldn't expect any notification from the team that they've processed the opt-out.
I was just popping back into this thread to say that I still haven't heard from my (former, I guess) rep about my opt-out despite the splash screen at the end of the form saying that those opting out will be contacted to complete the process.

I absolutely expected an effort by the club to retain me and other opt-outers, even though my decision was made. I have to wonder what it means behind the scenes that the club isn't even putting up a token fight for people dropping their season tickets.

Maybe they are expecting more people to sign up with the announcement of a stadium.

This is great stuff.

I couldn't make it last night, so I gave my tickets to an employee at work who hadn't been to a game before. I definitely want to check in and see what he thinks.

It seemed like one of those super special evenings - the kind that can make a convert out of anyone.

My plan with this team is to get as many of my friends out to games as I can. Almost everyone comes out of it with a really positive reaction.

Oh, and I tried to watch at home and had all kinds of problems before I finally got it to work. Fortunately, FoxSportsGo allows you to join a live game and play from the beginning, so I caught it all without knowing what would happen.

Definitely feel free to post what her thoughts were on it if you are comfortable sharing it.

I've taken many different people to NYCFC games over the last several years, most of them being people who don't give a shit about soccer and nearly all of them (one friend of mine who went really isn't into sports at all and didn't enjoy himself much) have all really enjoyed their time. It is a bit easier for me to bring people, as my ticket is in the SS so the GA part of that makes things easier in terms of "sitting" together and that environment is quite fun.

a recurring issue it seems is people turn immediately to YES or ESPN/ESPN+. But if YES doesn't have it for whatever reason, it'll probably be blacked out on ESPN/+ due to local broadcasting rights or whatever. So the only option is fox sports go, which can be finnicky and one additional layer for people to tune in.

most of the comments I read were people completely frustrated by not knowing where to go to watch and wondering why it was blacked out. perhaps iphone/android based tutorials could be thrown up to help people? Maybe they already exist.. if so, they aren't obvious.

He enjoyed it a great deal. It was his first time. He took his wife, who is Brazilian - he said she went nuts when Heber scored.

For me, I tried to tune into FoxSportsGo at kickoff on my PC, but I couldn't find the game anywhere. They only had the Fox networks and nothing about YES anywhere. I tried everything, but no luck. I even tweeted out at YES and FoxSportsGoHelp and never heard anything back.

Later, I tried on my Roku, and I found it and was able to launch from the beginning.

see? that's another problem. needs to be addressed. FoxSportsGo interface is pretty poor and they do not allow you to bring up a game until THEIR broadcast begins. Not actual kickoff, but when their broadcast begins, which may be slightly delayed. So for a 7pm kick off.. there may be a 2 min delay, so you wouldn't be able to access the stream until 7:02pm. it's a weird implementation and should just simply be a "starting soon" screen or something that goes right into the live stream when it starts.

Some teams have their games streamed directly on youtube. why can't we do that?! everyone and their granny knows how to access youtube. even amazon would be acceptable.

The atmosphere tonight was special.

Besides us winning and scoring 4 goals, what did you find special about the atmosphere? I thought for the amount of people there it was pretty good. For me, I thought it was pretty quiet for most of the 2nd half.

Other than the points you mentioned, the fan appreciation festivities were nice. Not sure if you stayed after to witness the speech and ceremonies, but that added to the experience as well, at least for me. The sheer statement of the game made it special. It wasn't just a win with a lot of goals, but it was a revenge win, against a conference rival and cup contender, that basically assures us the #1 spot. It felt good all around. It just seemed like everything about the night went well and fell into place. The only stains on the night were Maxi's horrendous PK miss and a silly PK giveaway by Chanot doing a Sweat impression. Even Ibeagha had a fantastic game and I'm always criticizing him.

I didn't get a call or email either. It literally says that they will contact to finalize the opt-out.

I'm a pretty early on founding member and I have to say it surprises me. I was actually having opt-out remorse and was going to go another year. Waited for rep to call/email, but that never happened. Since they don't seem to give a crap that I cancelled, it reaffirmed my decision to leave.

There was a split between the national Fox networks and regional ones a couple months ago into two different streaming platforms.

That PK occurred when the team was playing with ten men. I am convinced it doesn't happen if Ring was on the pitch and the team held its shape.

I know a few people that were still charged after opting out. Is this a known issue?

I've been dealing with a new rep and he keeps saying how their sales are up for 2020. I miss my old rep, I feel like when he calls he wants to sell me a used car with no wheels.
