JFC. The account manager was, and is, completely a mess, but between the weekend and today some anomalies were cleared up. In the meantime, I wasted time I don't have trying to sort it out and my account rep just got an email that was miraculously free of vulgarities.

I'm glad I called. They have a "Citi Field Expert" wandering the phone bank and i was able to get real human advice on sightlines, etc. Sometimes the phone is the best way to communicate. It sure beat the hell out of dealing with medical appointments this morning. I'm saving my rage for the things that really matter.

Was really hoping to get the section that I got for the 2019 Playoff game (Section 106), but that's now part of the supporter's section.

104 has a really annoying pole right in front of the corner flag where mata's fatal error was. Just warning anyone that sits there! (or it might be 105 or 103, but it's in that area)

I was put in the same section that I had for the playoff game (110) - only difference is that I was put in the front row this year (I have front row seats in the 200s at YS) vs the playoff game where I was a few rows back. Nevertheless that section is awful.

I called to move two sections over and towards the back of the section as the angle that low is awful. Very easy to do on the phone and as the ticket rep told me, “plenty of availability”.

I still would have liked the ability to choose anywhere rather than the designated sections, especially since the invoicing is different. technically could do this with the ticket trade-in program, but at least have made it easy to move within the designated area.

Me and my friend buy our season tickets separately so we can have our own accounts. They sat us next to each other at Citi Field. Not sure if that’s dumb luck or they did that for us. Either way extremely convenient.

I’m in 103 for 2020, but that may be meaningless because during the playoffs (rightly, but without notice) they let the supporters section ticket holders go into any of the designated sections. When it’s full, you’re out of luck and have to move on to the next, but in like YS, it’s more difficult to fit people in because it’s a seated area.

I hope having all the supporter groups on one level will make it possible to contribute something to the atmosphere though, that was the worst part of the playoff experience for me

I just switched my section to get a slightly better, straight on view. My ticket rep didn't have any mention about there being lots of availability. He pretty much gave me 4 options when I asked to move to another section. could be cause of the section I asked for.

In any case, I also asked about season ticket boxes and was told they would be coming in a week, maybe even later this week or end of next week at the latest.

Am I correct that if you call about changing your Citi Field seats, you are limited to seats in the same Category or Level? So you can neither upgrade nor down grade, but within that category, you can move to a different section (assuming availability).

Is this correct?

correct. You can only move within your current category. The only way to move anywhere else is to trade in those tickets and see what else is available through the trade-in program.

That seems fair to me. You are just negotiating your initial allocation. You can then upgrade later using normal procedures.

For tonight's CCL game I went to NJRB site to look up RBA policy (stadium entry, food, etc.) and noticed what seems to be a deviation from season cards. With rumors that NYCFC is not doing the season cards, I am wondering if this is what we will have.

Add all your matches to your smartphone’s wallet before the season starts so that you can easily enter using Tap & Go all season. Your digital Red Member card will now only be used for utilizing eCash, which lessens the need to rely on Wi-Fi and data to enter the arena.
Manage your tickets through the New York Red Bulls app.

All Red Members will receive section-specific wristbands for the 2020 season. When you wear your wristband on matchday, you can show it to the usher for quick and easy entry into your section. No need to juggle your phone to get to your seat!

that wristband idea will come in handy when holding two beers trying to get into the GA

I think we only get that if YS gets it, and there is no hint of that happening that I'm aware of. MLB opening day is after us so I suppose they could be announcing later but I think we'd have heard something by now.

Tonight's CCL game is the second time I am using mobile entry (Citifield playoff last year was the first), so I am not well versed in it, but I was able to transfer one of my tickets to my wife with no issues. IF we do head to a cardless entry, I would imagine it will be handled the same way.

I will say though, they rmeoved being able to screenshot anymore - it changed based on timestamp (i think 10 seconds) and has a moving bar as well. Therefore, no longer 'transferrable' :(

You can transfer by tapping the transfer button.

Don't love the wristband idea. Only because if I'm brining a guest, I'll need to be sure I get the wristband back and hopefully don't lose any.
